We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Victoria during our mother/daughter trip to Cuenca. The hotel feels like a beautiful old Victorian-style home full of charm, warmth, and character while still feeling elegant and comfortable.
My mom’s room had stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Tomebamba River, and we both kept saying how peaceful and beautiful it felt there. The location was perfect — quiet enough for a great night’s sleep, but still walkable to restaurants, cafes, and the historic center.
The staff truly made the experience special. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind throughout our stay. The restaurant was also fantastic — high-end feel, excellent service, incredible food, and a cute little bar that became one of our favorite spots to unwind.
Overall, we felt incredibly comfortable here and would absolutely stay again. A beautiful hotel with heart.
One small thing to note: some of the interior rooms don’t get a lot of airflow. The hotel does provide fans, which helped, but on especially hot days that could matter for some travelers.

The room was very good but a bit on a small size as I stayed there for 3 nights. Otherwise a very good stay, with very helpful front-desk staff and a pleasant breakfast location.

The breakfast was the BEST..! Although it was not quiet, there was a very good pair of new earplugs available on the bedside table. The snacks and the water were much appreciated! The shower was wonderful, and the bed was extremely comfortable, too!
The entry information online said there was a free shuttle to the airport, which was not true. The front desk held my luggage, so I could easily explore the nearby city (all in walking distance)... upon my return, the front desk was happy to secure a taxi for me to the airport.

The location, directly facing the Tomebamba River in the Historic Center of Cuenca, is exceptional. The hotel itself is elegant. The service is the best ever. You will feel like royalty staying here. Just be sure you ask for a room facing the river and not the noisy street, called Calle Larga.
There is NOTHING not to love about this hotel. The value is extraordinary. The breakfast alone, which is included with a room stay, is a special experience!

Most important to us is a good sleep, and our room was very quiet. And beautiful, with a glass wall overlooking the garden. Excellent breakfast in the main dining room offers everything from granola and yogurt to an omelet. Beautiful details throughout this historic building.

The breakfast was terrific. It started out with a fruit plate with granola and yogurt. Coffee was excellent. Scrambled eggs with cheese was very good. Served with rolls and butter.
The location in the historic district is perfect for sight-seeing. Friendly, cordial staff.
The toilet water bank occasionally would not fill due to a poor seal on the flapper. Minor. People were allowed to smoke in the back parking area, adjacent to our only windows and our room filled with smoke unless you shut the windows. Feral cats fighting at night out back woke up up both nights we were there.

Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was good, but the breakfast was exactly the same every day. I would’ve preferred a buffet. Room was beautiful and quaint. Dinner at the restaurant was really top class and a great bargain compared to the US.
It was very noisy. Loud corny music playing in the lobby that you could hear in the room. If you were trying to sleep during the day, it was impossible and this continued into the night. I did ask them to turn it down and they were very nice and did so, but I had to ask every night. The first room they gave me was right over the kitchen was very hot. They tried to compensate for this by putting a room blower thing in the room. I did complain and the very nice staff changed the room the next day.

Nice vibe. It’s comfy, clean and employees great you with kindness, patience and respect. I like their restaurant and the decor is lovely.
I was disappointed that they didn’t offer any entertainment and hadn’t felt it was important enough to start up the jazz night which I heard people enjoyed.

Perfect location, our (more economic) room facing busy nighttime street, but quiet, quiet. Great breakfast included, in dining room overlooking garden with plants and resident cats. Some rooms on garden level, where we might stay next time.

This is a beautiful property in the heart of Cuenca. The restaurant has a gorgeous view of the garden, the city and the mountains around the area. In particular, Robert in the dining room and all the front desk staff were extremely responsive and professional. The room and bed were very comfortable. A true gem!
Perhaps a bit more light in the room would be helpful.

Esteban provided us a warm welcome, helped get us settled, and was very accommodating. Andres gave us great advice about places to eat and facilitated transportation when we needed. The staff service matched the quality of the facility. Loved our room with the balcony.
