Wonderful
The staff are very friendly and spend extra time helping guests with sightseeing matters. The breakfast was good, and you can get coffee refills! The bed was clean, big, comfortable. This stay I booked a larger room with a balcony and it was a great addition.
Hotel Posada del Rey is a great place and I plan to stay again, though this time I will add that two small changes would be nice...1. how about a drink bar somewhere in the dining room? Offer coffee, hot water with a variety of tea choices, and fresh drinking water. Even for a fee! Sometimes we want a quick drink and don´t want to go out to a coffee shop. 2. how about making some small change in the breakfast from day to day?

Location, cleanliness, and the staff was very accommodating…. Kathy did a fantastic job keeping my room clean and refreshed. What else could you ask for? Look no further if you want a great place 500’ from the cathedral and parque Calderon. Mariuxi was absolute pleasure and was very helpful, kind, and patient with my poor Spanish. Thank you.
Everything was great. The breakfast was the same every morning so for variety I would try different places very close by.

The lady at the front desk tried, but there was little she could do to support us. The managers wouldn't communicate on WhatsApp. Only her, and wouldn't respond to us. The one room that we stayed in was nice, even though it was on the street and quite loud. The other room was OK but very crowded.
We arrived in a rain storm. There is no place to pull up and drop things off, and the signage is not great. The woman working at the desk was hired for the weekend and didn't normally work there. The ceiling leaked water in two out of our three rooms. We asked for a refund and for them to move us to other rooms. We also asked for a reduction due to the inconvenience. They refunded one room only, and charged full for the others even though one of them still had a leak. We were all crammed into two smaller rooms and it wasn't comfortable. Then they tried to charge us extra for extra people for the room. I would under no circumstances recommend this place.

We liked the location, large comfortable room, friendly staff and the double pane doors. Our room was on the corner and we had 2 balconies. It was fun to be in.the middle of all the we activity. The bed was comfortable. The price is right as well l.

Beautiful little hotel in a fantastic location. Friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast each morning, and comfortable beds.
Small things.... the water in the shower switched from hot to cold to hot to cold frequently, which made showering a little tricky. A key for the main door would be better than a buzzer (which you can hear at night).

I would prefer to have an option for breakfast. But more importantly, teas, coffees and free water bottle fill up would be a super service to include throughout the day and evening

The location is perfect to the historical center. clean, comfortable and a good value. no issues with the Wi-Fi, plenty of hot water for showers, just ensure to run it a little bit to bring it to the faucet. The staff was excellent, particularly the young lady that worked the mornings was friendly and helpful. She made the stay that much more enjoyable.
One minor complaint, being there for nine nights. The breakfast was the same items every day. Would be nice if the breakfast selection changed.

Amazing location, big spacious rooms with nice balcony, clean and updated bathrooms with good pressure and hot water. Mariuxie was amazing, very sweet and attentive. Nice breakfast included. Overall felt like I was staying in a colonial era Queen’s room.
Not a huge deal but I’m sensitive to fragrances and they had an automatic one that wouldn’t turn off.

Very large room. Very polite staff. Modern and updated bathroom. The location can’t be beat. It was very quiet and peaceful even in the mornings.
Would be great if the tv had Netflix but not a dealbreaker when there are so many great museums around.

The location is perfect, literally one block away from the main plaza. Despite being in the historical center, room looks like it was newly renovated, bathroom is clean and spacious (honestly the best shower we had in Ecuador), love the huge bed and the balcony too. Not forgetting the breakfast that’s included, with juice, coffee, toast, pancake and fruits. The price is so good for this quality. Highly recommended!

Everything- location, the hotel rate or the affordability, the friendliness of the staff, the food, the cuteness of the room.
It takes time for the hot water in the shower to start. There was no safe and no place to hang clothes and not enough hooks to hang dry towels.
