Right next to 9 de Octobre market, close to the bus station and plenty of restaurants. Also, a few blocks away from parque Calderon!!
All was good, no complaints. Just noticed a few people hanging out outside of the hotel, it could be a little intimidating as a solo traveler, but didn't feel in danger though. I think that's just their routine and it's completely harmless.

Decent property which could use a little love as parts feel dated. Good location on a main square and not far from central areas.
The door was always locked so you could never get in or out without sometimes having to wait a while for a staff member to come from whatever job they were doing upstairs. Feels a little tired and not very soundproof. A loud American kept me awake one night on his phone having an argument and we could hear every word.

Where to start from, this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
The floor where we were (last) had a certain inclination so when laying down in the bed, that was the hardest bed you can imagine (it was like sleeping on the floor), you have the feeling you’re rolling off. The room lacks a safe or even just a bin.
The facility is not clean, we had multiple ants in the room and in the bathroom. The shared bathroom is small and not comfortable - no toilet paper inside, you have to remember taking it before entering, no soap in the dispenser, no space where to leave shampoo etc in the shower.
Moreover on the second night we were there we noticed no one had gone to clean the bathroom or at least change the bin, that was full and with ants going towards it. The staff is not friendly either.
The WiFi is very weak. Tried to charge us more than what was saying in booking.
Honestly just do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot with good water pressure.
There was a big clump hair from a previous guest in the shower. The front desk was understaffed, so we were often waiting outside for a few minutes to be buzzed in.

Perfect location, staff wonderful, couteous and accomodating
The large space was enjoyable to utilize however was always quite chilly. We asked for extra blankets which was very helpful for sleeping however they did not have any heaters to assist. The large suite was unable to warm up significantly during the day.

I was really pleasantly surprised. My room was spacious, had a view over a busy square and the hotel ist very centrally located. Basically, within walking distance from the main bus station (terminal terrestre) and the airport could be reached by tram (3 or 4 stops for 1 USD). There is no Uber in Cuenca but taxis usually used the meter and are quite inexpensive.
For the price ... I paid a bit less than 40 USD for three nights for a private room with inside bathroom. There is no breakfast option but there are plenty of places nearby.
Staff was extremely friendly and if one is looking for a good budget option, the Hotel Norte is a good choice.
Not really a complaint, but just so you know ... the hot water in the shower takes a while but then it was one of the best showers I had in Ecuador ... very good pressure.

We stayed over a week in this hotel...We loved the location, near the market, lots of facilities around and the views from the terrace are beautiful ❤️ The staff is very friendly, they were very accommodating and helpful to our requests.
Some beds are a little bit hard to sleep in but you get used to it :D

Great location right in the historic center, simple but clean and spacious room with a beautiful view. Smart TV with Netflix. The staff wasn't overly friendly but helped us call a taxi.
