We booked our room for Carnival 2026 and were immediately impressed upon arrival. As we walked into the hotel and stepped into the courtyard where breakfast is served, we couldn’t help but admire the beautifully preserved woodwork and the charming rooms on the second and third floors. For a property with such age and historic value, it was exceptionally well maintained.
The wood floors were spotless and gleaming, and the stair rails were sturdy and secure, making it easy to go up and down. On the second floor, there was a cozy sitting area beside a large fireplace, which added to the hotel’s inviting atmosphere.
Our room was spacious and comfortable for my husband and me. Breakfast was served each morning in the courtyard on the first floor, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. The owner and staff were incredibly accommodating. The owner spoke English fluently, recommended local attractions and shops, and even arranged a taxi for us.
We didn't know that Carnival was also a holiday so a lot of stores were closed.

I loved the historic look and feel to the hotel and it's presented very well. Located in a good central location for visiting restaurants and various museums as well as the centre. Security at the hotel was good and the staff were friendly, I'm not sure how well they speak English though. Highly recommended be sure to choose this hotel!!!!!!!!
It's hard to complain about this hotel being such a bargain that it is, the only thing I could make a comment about is maybe be a little more creative with the breakfast but it gets you started for the day.......

Great location, you can walk to the main square, the markets, or the river. It is a bit noisy as it is on 2 main roads. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
In order to have a quiet room, we were placed beside the reception area, which was very quiet, however there were no windows. It was a dark room and the beds were very hard!

The breakfast should have been more generous. Compared to the other hotels we’ve stayed at of the same caliber, this breakfast was the lightest.

Great location and really nice staff. Breakfast was included and was very nice. We liked our rooms on the ground floor because there was not an elevator. Great hot water showers and lots of space in the rooms, particularly the one with a loft. Plenty of warm blankets and comforter.
Just a bit inconvenient placement of plugs and no night stand by the small bed.

The hotel has a cozy feeling, specially the breakfast area. The hotel has a great location, you can walk to major tourist attractions. The hotel has an old fashion vibe that makes it very unique and lovely. The breakfast is good.
