second time staying there will no longer stay anywhere else in cuenca but here. very friendly staff very accommodating. beds clean and comfortable. rooms are large kitchen is clean and has everything you might need for a weekend a week or a month.

Beautiful being by the river and so close to historic centre.
Staff presence a little unpredictable although very friendly and helpful when around. A microwave in the kitchen or public space would be helpful

The area is amazing, the view of the river is great, the patio is so nice to hang out on and the staff was great. Clean rooms and bathrooms with hot water and comfortable beds. The fully stocked kitchen is also a plus for cooking meals.
Some areas of the apartment don't have great wifi. but there are places within the complex where the wifi works great.

The location beside the river and close to downtown is fantastic. The apartments are roomy, and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking is secure. Decent restaurants nearby.
We were charged an extra $8USD per night for my daughter's certified service dog, which never happened to us anywhere before, and was disappointing. Also, we had an apartment facing the busy street in front, which made it quite noisy. WiFi was extremely weak in the living area, and non-existent in the bedroom. The place could use a little TLC, and looks better online than in real life!

Apartment was much bigger than it looked in pictures! Fully equipped kitchen and newly renovated bathroom with reliable hot water. Everything was extremely clean, I think it would be hard to find a single speck of dust. Beautiful lush gardens, friendly and helpful staff, all around peaceful and calming energy.
The location is strategic for a stay in Cuenca, just on the other side of the river from historic downtown. I will stay longer next time. In my opinion you won't find a better place to stay in Cuenca.

Location by the dried up river
The host and hostess. The owners left their children in charge for >1month.
In that time I was told by the daughter that I shouldn’t wake her up for hot water at 1230am.
The day before that another tenant left 5 months early because the owners’ dog, off leash, bit a residences dog …the son blamed it on the guest dogs fault.
I have filed a fraud report against Otorongo apartments and have moved Nextdoor to Bhatan Venue.

I loved the room and the views of the river. The garden is lush with plants and trees and you can smell the flowers. I enjoyed reading on the hammock. For me the location was excellent as next door to a vegan restaurant with views of the river and great food! The hotel is family owned and the owners are lovely and very welcoming. It is extremely safe as it is all gated with access only by key fob. It’s also pet friendly for those who want to bring their animal companions. Will definitely be staying at Otorongo Hotel again!

Traditionally built apartment complex very close to Cuenca historic centre. Our apartments (we extended our stay so had to move) were simple, but the beds were excellent and there were ample facilities for self catering. We found the rooms well soundproofed. The staff were very friendly and there is secure off street parking. It's about ten minutes walk to the historic centre and many restaurants and bars.

The owners are very active outdoor folks and so you're in great hands if you're looking to get out and about and explore the amazing nature surrounding Cuenca. The place itself is situated right next to one of Cuenca's 4 rivers, and so as a guest, you're enjoying the calming and relaxing white noise produced by it. The apartment I stayed in gave access to a kitchen and cabinets and so this is a suitable place for longer stays. The 2 adorable dogs were a pleasant presence being away from my own canine.
Nothing bad but good to be aware of: one of the dogs is quite the guard and so whilst he makes sure you'll feel very safe, his barking did keep me up for some time. Nothing a few earplugs can't fix though!
