Very limited supplies in the kitchen

I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by my recent stay at hotel. apartmichaela in sosua Dominican republic. Unfortunately my room was broken into my safe which supposed to be safe was also broke into all my cash disappeared $4000 u.s dollars. While I understand no hotel can completely eliminate the risk of theft , I expect a certain level of security and safety during my stay. The fact that my room was compromised is unacceptable and has left me feeling vulnerable and uneasy. To make matters worse the hotel response to the incident was underwhelming. I was expecting more empathy and a clearer plan of action to address the situation. The owner of the property never once spoke to me concerning the situation and he has been playing hide and seek I had to move to a different hotel 3 days before my due time when I came back for a refund for the last 3 days the receiptionist only have me back 2 days at this point I had no other option than to cut my loses. Water was leaking from the bathroom I ask for a change of room which I never received. Needless to say, I will never ever return to this hotel and would advise others not to go there it's failure to provide a secure environment for guests is a major weakness.

The bathroom facilities were in dire state, they need to be remodeled. The towel rack came off the wall and almost hit my foot when i tried to hang my towel. The knob that sends water to the hand held shower head didn't work. So i had to improvise to take showers. The AC in the room was not working, it was hot most times and uncomfortable to sleep at night.

Everything was great

After settling into room, the AC didn't work. I stood and watched the guy fiddle with the AC until he felt it wasn't working and then after 30 minutes of sweating I was moved to a room not as nice with AC that worked

Wires hanging out of the ceiling. The furniture was dated.

The furniture was too old and outdated

One of the windows didn't close right, which turned out to be no problem at all. However after sayin' it will be fixed the next days & then nothin's happenin' - just don't say it, if you don't deliver

Some fixtures were old, some door hinges needed to be replaced but all very minor.

- There are no kitchen facilities. Therefore, this is not an apartment - it is essentially a hotel. As the photo shows, they just have a microwave and a fridge. - I went to bed late and was also over-tired from my trip, but I was woken up at 8 am by noisy staff talking outside my room.

No breakfast is served not even coffee. Only one staff member was helpful. There was no security. My original room smelled so bad I had to fight to get a different one. I believed the smell was from trying to cover cigarettes' smell. no body really spoke English. The hot water faucet did not work. My original room was on the 4th floor. I had 2 pieces of heavy luggage. The young girl taking me to my room never offer to help me even when we had to stop on the 2nd floor for me to rest. I am 64 years old. No body told me how anything worked the keys were different the pool hiding away and other things.
