Set in a historic building in Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone, once home to a former president, the adult-only Casa Sanchez is within 1 minute's walk of Conde street. This boutique hotel has an outdoor pool and a separate jacuzzi in a pretty roof garden. There's free WiFi in all areas and 24-hour front-desk. Each air-conditioned room comes with internet TV, a safety-deposit box and a luxurious bathroom. The 16 bedrooms are all different. Standard rooms are poolside and perfect for a short-stay, while the Superior rooms are much larger and have an array of original features including beautiful Colonial tiling and high ceilings. There's a choice of four breakfast menus, served in a Colonial patio-garden. Suites have their own kitchens for guests who want to cook at home, with the supermarket just 4 blocks away. The hotel is located in the center of the Colonial Zone, within a few steps of the main Conde street. Boca Chica beach and Las Americas International Airport are both within a 45-minute drive. Free public parking is available on the street outside the hotel. The adult-only property offers airport and local transportation for an extra fee.

Wonderful
Excellent location near the pedestrian only street (El Conde) in the Colonial Zone, all the tourist things were walkable, very nice staff, spacious room with great AC, nice little pool, 24 hr front desk for arrivals and safety, free breakfast. Very cool little historic hotel.
The bed was very firm. There were things that could use some repair in the room and hotel. If you are picky or demanding, this probably is not the place for you.

Very Good
Very nice and kind staff. The location is perfect to explore the colonial zone, quiet street during the night. I also liked that the entry door had a keypad, so I didn't have to carry the key around.
There's both AC and a fan in the room. Occasionally I prefer using a fan, but here I couldn't turn it on without turning on the light as well.

The location was fantastic and well suited for travelers. Everything within waking distances. Great restaurants, great food and I felt safe at all times. Perfect for in transit Guest.
I didn't appreciate my +1 being kept asked for an ID. I explained its a couple thats staying but it didn't seem to matter. The room lacked in best guess years of maintenance. It was not equipped with all towel types and or toiletries. I didn't however, never brought the attention to the team as I guess it is what it is.

The decor, and location.
The hair dryer was not working and I notify the front staff immediately, they never changed it. The suite was not very clean.

I like that the people were very nice and the hotel was in a good location.
I didn't like the pool because it looked dirty. In the morning, all bathrooms were without water, and I couldn't take a shower to go home.

I loved the location, the pool and the space in general. The staff was attentive, kind and always found a solution in any situation. Breakfast carried me through busy mornings. I hope to go back.

The staff is extremely nice and check in check out is very easy. very safe an centric area. Its definitely not a luxury stay but full of old world charm.
While the rooms and facilities are typical of the era, and hold that old world charm in general it needs some more TLC and updating as to finishes (Paint, floor tiles etc.) not look rusty and old.
