Room was very spacious
There was a water issue the last day of our stay. We asked for a complementary late check out and they did not granted. We didn’t think they handled the issue very well, they pretty much didn’t care about us not being able to shower and get ready to check out.

The staff, entertainment and the facilities were beautiful and accommodating.
While the resort itself was beautiful and the staff were wonderful, the dining experience was very disappointing. We tried five different restaurants and unfortunately found the food to be consistently underwhelming and, at times, not enjoyable. The buffet was the only option that felt reasonably satisfying.

Loved it. Food was good a lot of variety very clean upgraded our suite when we got there because we like the property. Staff was very helpful.
I did not like that. I could only go to one specific spot on the resort to get a premium liquor that I liked.
Also, we did not use our swim pool because the water was extremely too cold to tolerate.

I made reservation for my son and grandson hoping they will have a nice break. There was a mistake in the reservation and the staff was not helpful to solve it, they were very rude. and ruined the stay for my family.

The staff was super friendly and always made sure we had everything we needed. The food at the restaurants and the buffets were great too. Zen restaurant was our favorite but you need to go early in order to make sure you get a table. There is no reservations for any of the restaurants, just first come first serve basis. The main pool with the bar was always packed but there was another adults only pool that was lovely and the service was great there. The beach was so nice and there was plenty of seating for the amount of people staying at this hotel. They had events at night that were super cute like circus themed, karaoke, etc. The rooms were also lovely. Everything from checking in to checking out and in between was super easy.
Very very minor but I wish there was service for drinks at the beach. The bar is close by but we had to go over each time we wanted a drink or something. Not the end of the world but would've been nice.

Riu Palace Bavaro is beautifully landscaped and maintained with so many options for dining that we did not get to try them all. The pools and beaches were wonderful. Staff was super friendly and even fun. Our favorite dining area during the day was the snack bar near the pools -- with something like 8 styles of delicious cuisine available adjacent to poolside. It was so nice to be able to grab lunch and snacks so easily. The tacos were exceptionally tasty! The poolside bar areas were great too. The different pools had different "vibes" (levels of noise and activity) so there is something for everyone. There are plentiful chairs, cabanas and shady spots to sit in too. I prefer shade and my family prefers sun, and we were both happy.

I would not recommend staying at this RIU resort under any circumstances. If you want to ruin your vacation, this is the place to go.
The resort did not honor the agreement we had at the time of booking. Instead, they attempted to impose unexpected price increases that were never agreed to or authorized. Communication through Booking was misleading and unprofessional, and at times included information that appeared altered or inconsistent with the original reservation.
In addition, the documentation provided by the resort raised serious concerns about transparency and accuracy. This experience felt deceptive and extremely frustrating.
If you are considering this property, proceed with caution. There are official Dominican consumer protection channels where complaints can be filed, and I strongly encourage others who have had similar experiences to report them. While you may not recover your money, raising awareness is important.

The food was great and the location to the airport was very convenient, not a long transportation time at all.
The resort says they have credits to use towards additional services and activities however, you can’t use but a fraction of the credits. This part was kind of misleading.
