Wait time for our meal was ridiculously slow at the Italian restaurant. the vegetable fried rice at the Japanese restaurant very salty and mussy and the steak house either its overcooked or under cooked.

I have stayed at the RIU in Panama which was top-notch, food, service & entertainment. The hospitality was so good I was hoping for a similar experience at the RIU Palace Bavaro however it was day & night different. I found the variety & quality of food was not that big, and there were also too many similar items each day. The hospitality was lacking in the whole resort. Of the hundreds of employees, only 3 people were friendly and everyone else never looked at you or even said hi. Bartenders looked upset or grumpy when serving drinks, especially one of the girls in the lobby bar, it made me feel uncomfortable to ask for drinks even though we had paid for the drinks as our all-inclusive, the employees acted like they were giving us drinks for free. The hotel is going under renovation in 2024 and definitely needs it. Our room had rust all over the mirrors, under the fridge, in the washroom, showers, and on our ceiling fan. The balcony door was stuck and hard to open, everything looked so dated. They did switch our room and everything was also rusty there. Our room had other people's hair on the bed, around the jacuzzi, and under the bed was so dirty that it hadn't been swept in over a year. The pillows & sheets smelled bad, we had to ask to have them changed after check-in. Every day we wanted the rooms cleaned nothing was stocked up in the fridge or coffee. We put the room cards on the bed to change the sheets and pillows as stated but they weren't changed unless we had to ask someone to come in and change them. For the money we paid, it was just way overpriced. I had originally booked a new resort on the same beach for less cost, cancelled & booked this resort & definitely regretted it after the experience. This resort is passable if you find a cheap deal on it & you will spend most of the time at the beach. The Riu Palace Punta Cana is more worth your money or any of the other Rius located in the same complex.

Enjoyed my time except for the fact that someone, im going to have to assume a cleaning lady stole my credit card (out of room as I never left the resort with it) and spent $50 at a local meat shop and $30 at a gas station

To be honest everything for us was perfect.

The pool was not clean during the day , the water was cold while showering and would rarely get hot . The hot tub does not work .when I told the front desk they said they would send someone up but no one came . The food sucks there was good duck and fried chicken thats it . Which was only served 1/4 days I was there . I ate off the resort from morning to night because the food was horrible . The drinks are decent , they try to make you what you want if you request it . The atm is a very far walk off the resort if you need cash . The riu party was filthy . It was full of people squished together , the dj was terrible , its very over rated . I stayed at the party for 15 mins thats it . It was not worth more than that unless you are very bored . The staff was very nice

The facility had a odor. Smelled like sewage. The toilet wouldnt flush twice and had to be repaired. The water wouldnt go down in the sink. The food was not good snd I saw a roach crawling around the taco shelf. I alerted the staff and they didnt seem to be surprised by it.

room smelled like old and the bed and sheets felt humid.
