Echoing previous reviews, Jorge is the best part of this hostel—he’s incredibly kind and helpful.
The hostel is located about a 15-minute walk from Macao Beach, in a very local, rural area. There are a few small stores nearby and a local restaurant just around the corner.
It’s a bit far from most places (about a 20–30 minute drive), so Macao Beach is definitely the main attraction.
The hostel itself is very simple, as described—you get a bed and a shower (cold water only). Having windows that open to the outside would make the rooms feel more welcoming and bright, but it’s not a big problem. Coffee, bananas, and biscuits were a nice touch each morning.
Overall, it’s a good budget option if you don’t plan to spend much time indoors.

We didnt get the chance to try the breakfast, but the staff was amazing. Incredibly sweet and accommodating. Perfect location within great proximity of a restaurant and pharmacy.

The host and owner is so nice, provide two free towels, A/C in every room, clean and comfortable, providing filter water and an outside kitchen to cook. What makes this place so special is the owner: Jorge, very kind.
Internet Wifi worked, and security cameras for safety. About 10-15 min walk to the beach (la play de Macao)
the only challenging thing is getting there without a car, but there was public bus I took from Santo Domingo when I left, I do not recommend Uber from Punta Cana

The host George is the best part of this hotel! He makes sure you feel good and that you have an exceptional stay. This is going to be our stay every time we are in Punta Cana.
Everything is great but it will be even better if they had hot water but if you don’t mind you should be fine. Either-way it was not that cold.

Best hosting ever, the owner is super kind and available to help. The quality/price rate for the accomodation is super high: the bed is super comfortable, the shower works perfectly, the location is great!
Definitely a the best solution in Macao for an authentic Dominican Republic experience of kindness, if not interested in super fancy resorts.

Staff is amazing! Very quiet location so we slept well. AC works well and the room was clean.
It was far away from most things in Punta Cana and going around with Uber gets expensive. Shower had only cold water.

Jorge is a very amazing person, he goes above and beyond to help guests with whatever they need. I loved that the room was extremely clean when I arrived, the bed is very comfortable. I personally had an amazing stay. I also loved the two ?.

The location is great, near the main road, not far away to Macao Beach. 30 seconds to a nice restaurant.
The owner is superfriendly and welcoming, he makes you feel right at home. There is a terrace with a kitchen and fridge and sitting area right at his house. Parking is easy right in front and for free.
The WiFi works fast.
The house is clean and quiet.
Few things could be improved:
-maybe small table or shelves to put some stuff
-only cold shower
-depending on the room, others can look into it from the stairs
