Good location with plenty of food options. Food overall was good. Landscaping of the grounds was seemingly performed daily. Room was also checked once or twice a day for service and cleaning. Common areas and dining areas maintained well. Most of the staff was friendly
We paid for an upgraded “privileged” room - The first room we stayed in overnight had no air conditioning. We overheard several other guests who had the same issue and even spoke with a couple who had to move 3 times. The ceiling leaked water and eventually gave out! The first room was particularly dirty and smelled of mold. Once we were moved, the conditions improved and we had AC. Then there was an issue with water - the entire complex ran out of hot water several days and when I asked the front desk about it, they told me there was an issue with the generator keeping up with the demand. Separately, our tub faucet would not supply water at all so we were unable to use it. These rooms could all use a remodel.

Had a lovely experience! We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to check in early with no extra fee which was amazing after a long flight. The staff was super nice especially in the reception and the bell boys. Drinks good, food good and facilities amazing.

This is the most amazing all-inclusive hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It’s more about restaurants than buffets and the staff is incredibly friendly and of course the grounds are absolutely beautiful.. Our room was exceptional with a view.
And the adjoining hotel was available to our hotel as well, and it was over the top!

Everything at the resort was AMAZING. The ladies at the front desk at check-in, the cart drivers, the cleaning staff, and the restaurant staff were everything we needed on this trip. We love this resort chain and can't wait to come back. Thank you all for making my partner's birthday one he will always remember. I can't wait to see what Catalonia Zanzibar has to offer .
The only issue that I had at the resort is children were on the adult only side.

All inclusive A la Cart dinners every night, love being able to go to the other side of the resort as well and the swim up bar was awesome along with all the bartenders!
The hotel was impossible to get ahold of before our stay, the photographer guy was very rude at photo checkout and there were a lot of solicitors harassing us and all guests at the beach but none of this really affected our actual stay, which was amazing!

The resort was very nice. We upgraded to a privileged room and it was worth it to be closer to the "quieter" pool and beach area. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food and restaurant choices were fine. Nothing stood out as amazing and nothing was bad. Golf course onsite was sufficient to practice before heading to the nicer clubs in the area.
We didn't like that the rooms were a bit outdated and our shower was a challenge (barely any water pressure and sometimes all you would get was very hot water and it would fluctuate throughout the shower). We also didn't like the way they attempted to give their sales pitch on day 1 of our arrival to join their "club" (similar to a timeshare).

We really enjoyed how convenient eating and drinking was when we were hungry and not have to eat during specific hours.
The food was delicious and the staff couldn't have been nicer.
We didn't have TV signal for 8 of the 9 days we were there after calling about it everyday. No refund was offered -
The nightclub closed very early and the casino was simply a small room with about 15 slot machines and maybe 5 tables all together. I guess we saved money knowing we weren't going to win anything from their casino so we didn't gamble much.
Also, we had no idea they were going to do an almost 3 hour presentation for us to be a member to their club. They did not make that clear from the beginning.

It’s was on the beach
Staff was acting like you’re bothering them when requesting something. Sometimes they wouldn’t even show up. The phone inside the room didn’t work, you had to scan a QR code to make reservations or order room service. No ice machines. Requested ice the day I got there through room service and it showed up the night prior to me leaving. Cats everywhere even when you’re trying to enjoy a meal. They just sit there and wait for you to feed them. It’s pretty damn nasty if you ask me. Food was not the best. Wouldn’t recommend it at all. Did I mention that the room I got was an upgrade? Well it didn’t seem like it.

The grounds are spectacular and very well maintained. Staff is very friendly.
I understand the dress code for inside restaurants, but outside next to the pool should not have one. There were 4 rooms in our group, 1 was very nice, 1 was ok, 2 were abysmal-ours was one of them (should note our room was more expensivethan the other 3). Rusted fixtures, the light of our accessory mirror did not work and it was hanging loose from the wall. The room was filthy- we had to keep towels on the floor to walk on. I had to scrub every touchable surface. The lock on the balcony door was loose. We did not get the robes and slippers that were supposed to be included in our package. The housekeeping staff yelled at each other from room to room starting quite early in the morning. Either update the rooms or update the pictures in your advertisement- it is false advertising. I feel we did not get what we paid for. And it appears that the room photos I uploaded did not show up.

The property was gorgeous. Couldn’t ask for better. The atmosphere is relaxing and amazing views.
We were supposed to get slippers and robes in our room, never did. Our room wasn’t anything like what was pictured when we booked like 11 months ago. Super small showers in the room we were in, in order to wash my hair I had to stand sideways or my elbows hit the walls. Many items were falling off the walls.

Staff were very friendly and the food at all places were excellent. We really enjoyed the natural fruit juice place on the beach. The dining areas were amazing along with the selection of food. Our room was cleaned everyday and our fridge was always stocked up with drinks. The daily activities, yoga, zumba, stretching were really good and on our last day, there was a merengue dance at the beach for fresh coconut water which was super fun.
The beach seemed to have an abundance of seaweed everyday and the cleaning of the seaweed with the diesel tractors was not very nice in terms of the noise and smell in the mornings by the beach. The saving of chairs with towels, especially at the pool areas, we didn't like. This also was the same on the beach chairs as well. On our second to last night, we had to change rooms because of a water problem on the roof. The new room provided was definitely a downgrade from our original room. As this was our second all inclusive resort, we found that the beach area had too many vendors selling stuff from cigars, clothing, photos with parrots and lizards etc. The resort we stayed at in the past, also in the Punta Cana area, had no vendors and it was far more peaceful.
