We stayed at the Tivoli Hotel for our first trip to Copenhagen, travelling as a mum and her six-year-old son.
Unfortunately, our journey got off to a terrible start. Flight delays meant we missed our connection, arrived in Copenhagen much later than planned and, to top it all off, our suitcase didn’t arrive. We arrived at the hotel close to midnight, exhausted, upset and with nothing but the clothes we were wearing.
This is where I really want to recognise Alexius, who checked us in that evening. I was so overwhelmed that I actually burst into tears at reception, but he was incredibly kind, patient and reassuring. He provided us with toothbrushes, helped us work out where to buy essentials the following morning, checked whether we needed any medication from a pharmacy and even brought robes and extra blankets up to our room so we had something comfortable to wear and wouldn’t be cold.
He went above and beyond without ever being intrusive. His kindness made an incredibly stressful evening so much easier, and it genuinely meant a lot to us. My son even commented afterwards that Alexius had been so nice to Mummy when she was crying, and kept asking if we could go and see him again!
It’s easy to underestimate the impact of small acts of kindness, but we won’t forget how he treated us.
Beyond that, the hotel itself was excellent. Our room was lovely, breakfast was fantastic, the pool was a real bonus and the room service burger was delicious! All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.
A huge thank you to Alexius and the wider team. You helped turn what could have been a really upsetting start to our first trip together into a much happier experience. We would absolutely stay here again.

Disappointing
The hotel is massive, close to the centre and embankment. Halloween decorations are nice. Even basic room design is pretty and size is fine.
The kid is the king here. Unfortunately most of the kids were misbehaving and neither parents nor staff cared about it. My 2.2 kg quiet and peaceful dog wasn’t allowed anywhere yet the kids were jumping, running and screaming in the restaurant at the breakfast, sushi restaurant and the spa was a nightmare. Staff should tell off the incompetent parents to follow some basic rules!!! They used incorrectly the elevators which caused massive delays (again, kids not allowed to use them alone). The quiet times in spa were never respected, it was impossible to rest in the sauna or swimming pool due to the lack of basic manners of enormous amount of kids. I regret staying here. Also, the receptionist lady who welcomed me tried to push me to skip cleaning (tf?) and asked if I drank alcohol (my bday related question) I said no. Nevertheless I was given a complimentary bottle of cava. I returned it to the reception. My advice is to be mindful as some people can be sensitive to this kind of thing.

Good room size, comfortable bed, great breakfast and great swimming pool. Staff was very helpful too and genuinely nice.
If you have breakfast just before closing time, expect it to be full of people, and especially kids. Keep that in mind if you are a professional, but most likely you will have breakfast much earlier.
The pillows, the pillow covers and the duvet covers could have been of higher quality.

Beautiful interior and exterior, great location. The staff were friendly and polite. There was always someone around to ask for help. The room was lovely and spacious. Our child’s spare bed wasn’t made up on arrival but reception sent someone up within ten minutes of my call.
The location was great, walkable to some fantastic sights and the large shopping mall. It also has the stromma sightseeing buses stop right outside so we made use of this every day to get around the city. Perfect hotel for what we wanted.
Breakfast was a little confusing. We were staying in the tivoli side tower and were told to return to the main hotel for breakfast. Once we went up for our first breakfast we were sent back to our own tower with a slip of paper allowing us to have breakfast there. Although a little confusing I did notice the main hotel breakfast hall was busy. The tivoli tower breakfast on floor 11 however was fantastically quiet every morning. So a minor inconvenience on day one that was very much appreciated each day after.

Loved the design and the size of the room. The staff is very nice and friendly. The location is also nice. Probably takes around 10 minutes to get to the central station but loved that there was a nearby nice mall and the Dutch Architecture Center was also very close.
The noise from the train tracks as the hotel looks over the tracks straight away. The pillows also weren’t very comfortable.

Staff were very hit and miss. Often quite blunt and rude - waiter said to fill bottle ourselves using bathroom tap. Breakfast is absolutely chaotic and very little selection compared to most breakfasts.

The gym and pool were well maintained and adequate towels
Breakfast was chaotic, packed and disappointing food. No organisationfor seating you had to walk around a massive canteen trying to find seats. On our last day as pictured there was about 35 people in a queue to get inside to find seats so we just gave up.
Our family room had a cramped old sofa bed for kids and a flat broken mattress for us. I never complain but this was so bad - When I asked for a new room with a newer mattress I was told there was nothing to be done but a ‘topper’ which was a tiny blanket placed on the mattress. It wasn’t a particularly budget stay so unacceptable for the cost.

Convenient location, within walking distance of Tivoli and the Central Station.
During our three-night stay, our room was not cleaned once. There was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom drain throughout the stay. We were given a wheelchair-accessible room without being informed in advance. We would have liked to know, as the layout was not suitable for a family of three. Breakfast was very crowded: every morning we waited a long time for a free table for three, and tables were not cleared fast enough. For a family room costing 26,600 CZK (approx. €1,100) for three nights, we expected better service and standards.

This was a family friendly hotel which had a great playroom for our toddler. It was within walking distance to the metro (10 minute walk). The rooms were spacious and clean
Value for money is poor for what you pay for I thought the breakfast was mediocre and not a lot of hot food variety (although I am being a bit picky because the price you pay). I also think being a family friendly hotel but not letting toddlers swim in the swimming pool with a swim nappy seems a really harsh policy and something I would have enjoyed during are stay.
