The hotel rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. There is a little mini-bar fridge available, which the hotel does not recommend to use in summer, but in spring it was very helpful to keep small food & drink items fresh.
While the location is a little out of the town, in 15 mins on foot (or in less than 5, if you catch a bus, which are free with the tourist voucher you will receive in return for paying the tourist tax) you reach the old town - this is a very reasonable walking time. Even if the path leads along a road, in the spring parts of it will lead you under beautiful pink-blossoming trees.
There are a couple of supermarkets in the vicinity of the hotel and even if the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, there are plenty of options in the town. I also liked the free parking (with plenty of space available).
The price was on the slightly higher side for the standard and location. I still found the room nice and it was tourist season in Wernigerode, plus I booked very late, so I guess it was still fine. The real issue was, however, that the hotel only accepted EC cards or cash. Not sure if this was a temporary hiccup or a permanent "feature". We had checked this specifically on Booking to confirm all cards were accepted, as we don't have EC and I don't feel comfortable running around with hundreds of Euros in cash in my pocket. Still, we had to do so.
One other thing is the tourist tax - not the fault of the hotel, and Booking does mention there may be other fees, but not the amount - and I can say in Wernigerode this was on the higher side - around 3.50 per person per day - so we ended up paying over 20 Eur extra for our 3-night stay. I guess if you can afford to pay for the hotel, you will be able to fish out this extra money, and you receive the free public transport vouchers and some minor tourist discounts in return. Still, it is not great to have a surprise like this.

It was clean and looked good. You can go to city center by walking maybe 20 mins. There is one supermarkt beside the hotel. Overall experience was good.

Parking is free, quiet and well insulated room.
The staffs are unfriendly and rather rude. Location is a bit off. Payment is only possible with an EC card. Amenities is quite low, no coffee maker, glasses are tiny, more like whisky glasses than to drink water. Too many stairs, no lift.

It really didn’t look all that new and was located above a beverage market. So it didn’t have that curb appeal, but the inside is such a positive surprise. Albeit simple, the rooms are modern and lack nothing. Very comfy and well designed, with silently closing doors and such.

the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. the town where the hotel is located is very charming however the location of the hotel within the town is not good
for a three star hotel, and for the price, the rooms were a bit small and sad and the location not great.
