Exceptional
I felt so taken care of and comfortable at La Rustica. It is perfectly centrally located in the rejuvenating town of Wenigerode. A main highlight was the beautiful breakfast prepared freshly every morning.

Good location with restaurant on site. Short walk to Market Square. Room good size with working bathroom. Good breakfast is provided each day within restricted hours,
Room was at top of two flights of steps. Every trip out of the room involved a significant journey especially with a suitcase. Checkin is done remotely with the key in lock box. This information was not provided. Operation requires working European telephone to contact owner about getting keys. Tea and coffee after breakfast hours is via paper cup and a pay for use machine. No staff around to provide any assistance. More like a B and B rather than a serviced hotel.

Hotel was lovely and staff were really good. Hotel had a good atmosphere especially in the restaurant area in the evening.
Would recommend eating there - the prices are food are very good so not worth going elsewhere.
Some reviews moan about breakfast - it was fine, ok so not hot food but not the end of the world. There was plenty there to satisfy most tastes.
Hotel in a good position right in the centre of Wernigerode and not too far from railway station.
Can't praise staff highly enough, really added to the stay.
Room was a little warm and no guide as to alter heating settings.

The hotel is next to the main street and a 5 min walk to the city center. It has a nice staff and a restaurant with good food and not so expensive. Good internet connection. The breakfast is not buffet but is big enough to have a good meal.

The room was beautiful, comfortable, and the place is in a fantastic location! We also really enjoyed the breakfast. There was a brown bread that we’re already missing. ? The whole team was always very polite and nice with us. We certainly felt at home and are looking forward to getting back!!

Room was very comfortable and clean
Access to the hotel is via smart card . There is no reception on the premises you have to phone to talk to the proprietors who have no English, so through your little German you have work out how open a key box via a number code, then walk around the car park to another door and hope the card you have extracted from the KEYBOX lets you in to both the building and your room. There don't appear to be any staff on the premises. Once you're in it is very comfortable.

A pleasant stay in a pleasant hotel. A nice time in general. I would likely pick this hotel again if I stayed in Wernigerode. I was worried about being disturbed at night but was not. Out of the local restaurants, a Greek one was best. The Brocken train ride is the headline attraction. It is very pricey, but worth it. Recommend a good walk from Schierke to where the Berlin Wall was.

It was close to everything. The room was large. The breakfast was good. They have a restaurant and bar with well-prepared dishes at a very reasonable price. Staff very friendly.
Street noise from people walking at 1-2 am was quite noisy and woke me up all three nights, so sleep was interrupted even when windows were closed. The bathroom was very small and crowded. I am of average weight for my 5’8” height, but to safely get to the toilet without banging my shoulder into the glass shelf over the sink, I had to keep the shower doors open. The sink is straight across from the toilet with little room to wedge into a seated position without hitting your face on the sink, nor can you stand directly in front of the sink to wash your face.

Poor
First of all, there is no choice of breakfast. I went only once there and got scrambled eggs and a plate of cold cuts served. I asked for a boiled egg but it was not available, only the day after.
Secondly, the most bothersome point was the impoliteness of the owner when I asked him for the Wifi PW of the hotel. Comment: "You are a very difficult person", followed by "You are the King, but I am the Emperor". This was on the first evening.
On the last evening after coming back from a trip I noticed the room was not made. It was around 5 PM and I called a mobile number since the reception was never occupied. I asked for fresh towels only, the owner promised me to bring them with similar rude comments as above. Until 10 PM nobody showed up.
Furthermore, there is satellite TV and a few times I had no reception for news and other channels, in the morning as well in the evening. His comment: "This has something to do with the TV station but not with the satellite".
Checkout was done by the bartender, the invoice address was wrongly printed and he was unable to correct it since the owner couple was not present.

Location is amazing - Very short walk to the centre of town.
Was unable to check in at midday. I phoned the number on the door and was told to return in the afternoon and had to explore town with luggage as there was no staff on site. (This could have been rectified by using their pass word or key drop. Also this time was inserted at time of booking and pre-arranged.
The owner had a poor attitude - chastised for not speaking German. Asked do you speak German? No - You should learn.
Additional 9 Euro thrown on at the end as 'Tourist tax' which should have been part of the initial online quote
