The space of the room in Junior Suite felt like being a King and Queen. The full covering carped made it soft and the floor to ceiling curtains as well. They’ve kept the original condition with its squeaky wooden floors in the ground floor, making it like a movie from the past. We also liked the customer service. And the included breakfast was excellent, a continental breakfast at its finest. Also just underneath the castle, a short walk away. Recommended!

This is a solidly built establishment that is easy to find but somewhat out of town. The staff were very helpful and efficient but there is no restaurant for meals other than breakfast which was excellent.
Sadly the beds were very hard, but that's a personal preference, but the bathroom was quite roomy with a super shower. We also had a verandah which was very pleasant.
On paper it looks like an easy walk into town but as the hotel is situated halfway up a hill it is quite a hike into Wernigerode and back again. I speak as a senior citizen! The answer is to drive, but parking is very limited especially at the weekend, and the town is full of one-way streets - not the hotel's problem.

It was located near the research facility I was going to visit
It is (albeit beautifully) situated on a hill just under the castle so not central in town and I could not get a taxi or public transport when I arrived at the station at 9:40. That is not the hotel’s fault but it’s worth bearing in mind.when you don’t arrive by car.

Location is great !
Located close to the castle , 15 min walk, close to the city center , 10 min en around the corner there is a beautiful park
Also linnen is of a natural material
Missing a small kettle in the room for a late cup of tea , or just hot water ; small tea pot available at the reception though € 5.50

We stayed in a Junior Suite. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a view over the hotel grounds.
A ten minute walk from the town centre with all its restaurants, shops and cafes means you have a lot of choice, but is just far enough from the town to hear nothing but bird song and the occasional steam train whistle from the room.
A special mention for the breakfast. Fresh scrambled eggs and sausages are accompanied by a huge selection of cold meats, cheeses, pastries, breads as well as cereals, muesli and fresh yogurts. Fruit juices and mineral water are accompanied by a freshly brewed pot of coffee which is brought to your table by the friendly staff.
If I were to return to Wernigerode, I would definitely return to this beautiful hotel.

This tastefully decorated hotel is centrally located. The room was big enough and the bed was very comfortable. If all the free-of-charge hotel parking spaces are taken, you can park in front of the hotel. However, this free street parking, is on a first come, first served basis. The Lustgarden and the old City Wall are just 5 minutes' walking distance from the hotel. There are plenty of restaurants, tourist attractions, and hiking trails nearby.
The breakfast was simple but provided plenty of choices. If you have eating restrictions like me, notify the hotel during your booking or prior to your arrival. They are accommodating and guest-friendly.
We only stayed one night.
