My room was fine
Stayed many times before. The Breakfast very very poor no selection of cold meats .in fact that bad did not take breakfast! The smell of cigarette smoke very strong in the bar area where smokers would open a door to smoke plus it would drawn in to the bar area . And have decided never will return,

We chose this property to be close to the Harz Mountain Steam Train Depot, and it did not disappoint us. Our chosen railroad theme room had an excellent view of the steam train rail yard, so that we were able to watch the engines come and go. It was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. We especially liked having dinner in the restaurant and having a beer delivered by a model train.

Great location near the station. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff who spoke English.
TV didn't have a signal, but we didn't raise this during our stay as to busy travelling around and sightseeing.

Very easy to locate, about 5 minute walk directly opposite the railway station. Easy access to town centre and all amenities.

In need of modernisation, felt more like a hostel. Hair dryer in room so old and worked when it wanted. Staff miserable unable to smile. Breakfast poor, no gluten free option for bread, meat & cheeses were spiced no plain options.

The train theme was a nice touch, the room layout and friendly staff. Location as is close to mainline and HSB station and Altstadt. Breakfast options were good and dinners were nice. Liked being able to see HSB trains from the breakfast room.
It was stated to have soundproofing, this is not the case. The room window was next to a footpath and road that leads to the Altstadt, this caused a fair amount of external noise. Internal noise wasn't much better as could hear so much in neighbouring rooms and in the hallway. Occasional smell in the room which may be drainage. Being a solo traveller I had to ask to order a drink to a table to be delivered by the model train. Otherwise I was always sat away from the window and the model train. Also not told about city tax at the start of my stay.

This hotel is one of the best stays in Weingerode this is the second time we have stayed there as we base it around the trip on the Hartz Steam Railway to Brocken it is in an excellent position to view all the train movements during the day
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful even though we did not manage to speak much German they did spoke very good English and were very very helpful the food was first class and freshly cooked the hotel was spotless ie shower etc the rooms were absolutely spotless we are planning a return trip
