The Russischer Hof in Weimar is very well known. It has been renovated in the 90s with taste and guests' comfort in mind. This still works, but a rejuvenation might put it all up a notch or two.

Great location in centre of Weimar. Very smart foyer with valet parking which made life easy re unloading of luggage. Lovely ‘Historic’ room - great bathroom with bath.

We recently stayed at Best Western Weimar and overall had a pleasant experience. The strongest point of this hotel is definitely the staff — everyone was very friendly and approachable. Even during the low season, when the hotel was relatively quiet, staff members were always available whenever we needed assistance.
The room was clean and had a charming, vintage, classical atmosphere. I especially appreciated how the hotel preserves its historical character through its decoration and style. The location is also very convenient, making it easy to explore the city center. Although we did not try the restaurant or room service during our stay (as some services were limited in the low season), the café downstairs served tasty cakes, and the hotel is very pet-friendly, which we truly appreciated.
There were, however, a few downsides. The room was quite cold, and even after running the heating for a long time, it never became properly warm. We had to use a small portable heater, which, unfortunately, was rather noisy. On the second morning, a maintenance staff member attempted to enter our room to investigate a reported water leak downstairs and questioned whether we had used excessive water in the guest toilet. This led to an uncomfortable situation and a verbal disagreement, after which we asked him to leave — an unusual and unpleasant experience.
Parking in the city center is also not easy. The hotel offers valet parking at €25 per day, which felt a little more expensive compared to similar cities.
Despite these issues, the service quality and the friendliness of the staff left a positive overall impression.

Simply one of the best hotels around. I enjoyed the subtle flex of the Franz Liszt association as it was Liszt who promoted the names of Goethe and Schiller after they had become forgotten in the mid 1800s.
The historic hotel is extremely comfortable in every respect, the food was superb.
There were one or two celebrities who were fellow guests during my stay - so it's definitely the right place to be!
That I couldn't have stayed longer.

Everything. For its price range, the hotel provides a very comfortable stay with an extraordinary breakfast buffet. The rooms are comfy and well equipped. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

Hotel was very well situated and certainly leant towards the 'upper' range of hotels.A bath was most welcome, rather than just a shower.!
The buffet breakfast was excellent but there is no day/evening restaurant currently.
Valet car service was a nice touch too.
We asked for and booked a large double room but we're given a twin. Disappointing but having travelled all day, we were too shattered to ask to swap.
