The Gasthaus was located in a quiet neighborhood above the city of Trier, but less than a 10-minute drive from tourist attractions in the city center. The room was small, but had plenty of space and everything a single traveler would need. The bathrooms were very clean every time I used them. The staff I encountered were quite friendly.
The walls were quite thin as I could hear the people in other rooms around mine quite easily. However, all guests respected the specified quiet hours at night so it wasn't much of an issue. The breakfast, while delicious, filling, and served by friendly staff, was rather expensive.

It was difficult to get there from Trier city by public transport but once I got there it was excellent; really amazing breakfast and great people
It's quite a way from Trier city and getting there with public transport is not easy

Stayed here before (2022), and liked it it enough to return this year. Good food, when the restaurant was open. It was closed the day i arrived, as it was a public holiday. BUT, the owners let me know, before i arrived, so no big deal. There are other restaurants nearby (10 minute walk). Was able to park my motorcycle in the barn behind the hotel (as i did in 2022), so out of sight of any curious people. Wifi was decent, room was fine. Had the entire floor to myself for the first two nights. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location for exploring Luxembourg, Eifel Forest, etc.
No Air Conditioning in the room, no fan, and 28c weather. So you had to have the windows open. Which was an invitation to the mosquitos. Not a real problem, but maybe fly screens on the windows would be helpful.

Super nice room with a comfortable bed. The room looked very clean with a sink. The bathrooms and showers were just around the corner All in all - a super nice guest house! The disadvantages are only small things for me. I think the price (65€+) was a little bit too high for a room with shared bathrooms eventhough it was exceptionally clean!
While the restaurant was opened, there was quite a bit of smell when the window was opened. The TV was not adjustable to another viewing position, so not super comfortable to watch laying in bed. The showers don't have a lot of space, so you can't really change in it. There is only a small hook. Clothes would get wet while showering. There are more hooks just outside the shower, but as they are in the shared space, I would feel a little bit uncomfortable. Not on the guesthouses tab - but wanted to mention it here: The location is okay, there's a bus going from the main station - currently not in the right way without information on the websites. So it's a bit walking uphill towards the guesthouse. There is a supermarket close to the bus station if you don't want to eat in the restaurant.

Gasthaus Wollscheid is known for its friendly atmosphere and excellent breakfast. It is low cost compared to other hotels in the area, and for me the foot walk to the University campus is most convenient. There are also pubs, restaurants, and supermarkets at a walking distance, and you can start walks into the nature right away. I also found my bed super comfy. In addition, if you have special wishes, do not hesitate to ask, the friendly staff is trying their best to make you feel comfortable.
I would appreciate a higher availability of rooms including ensuite washrooms, so most rooms require sharing; I appreciate that everything was clean all the time. Another slight disadvantage is that despite the village location there is some traffic noise early in the morning, which means you have to close your window if you have a light sleep.

very clean, nice place in nature, very hefty breakfast without the usual waste - loved the idea, loved the staff and how welcoming and caring they were
note it's uphill from Trier center, it is new and clean and of course - thin walled and noisy in the morning, so ear plugs would help

The breakfast was wholesome and really good. The room was clean and tidy. The womens bathroom although shared are clean. Would be a bonus if those facilities were inside the room. The location is good and has great views. Free Parking Availability at the location was good.
I did not anticipate the bed to be small/single as well as the conveniences and showers outside the room and shared. The rooms are quite audible so you can hear the neighbours. i also did not like the loud bell early in the morning,
