Good
The location of the hotel - isolated and next to fields and forest
The place does not offer dinner and drinks are available in a fridge as a self service - not an issue in itself as long as you come prepared

Wonderful
The view is absolutely amazing, staff is very friendly and make you feel like a guest. Very welcoming. Bed and breakfast is good. Location (if you travel by car) is very good, close to the city.

Exceptional
Stunning location, yet quiet and peaceful
Friendly, helpful and hardworking owner
Great breakfast
No toilet facilities on the ground floor - one needs to use the bathroom in the bedroom (a bit inconvenient when you live on the second floor)

Almost nothing to like. It is away from the city center, on a small hill next to a forest. The views from one part of the forest were nice. That is all.
To begin with, the reception times are limited and the hotel is closed. We arrived after a very long flight and the reception was closed. We had to drive to Trier and kill 2 hours before the reception opened. The heat wave was unbearable as the rooms have no air-conditions. The bathroom is so tiny and the entry to the shower required you to be thin and athletic to fit in. Spending 4 nights there felt like a long agony as you could not fall asleep from the heat. I called Boooking's customer service and spoke with the hotel manager about leaving the place to the Town of Trier where hotels had A/C. The hotel manager refused to waive the deposit and let us leave. My recommendation is to wait until there is a new management that will be remodeling the place and adding A/C and also looking after the guests.

More than half a century we have been traveling world wide and we had many experiences with many different types of hotels. This hotel experience was the worst we ever had.
First of all we called the hotel directly by phone to make a reservation. The old lady told my husband that there was only one room left at a price of EUR 240. We made the reservation only to realize shortly later that at Booking.com the same room costed only 170 Euro. So we booked through booking.com. Before we could inform the owner lady to inform her accordingly she immediately called us and complained asking why we had changed and insisted that the price she had told my husband was 140 Euro.
When we arrived and entered the hotel 5min before check in time the
Owner (Old lady ) shouted at us saying that we were too early and we should not enter the reception room.
No welcoming word at all even after my husband apologized and asked her to be polite and say at least a word of welcome.
Incompetent and completely bad mannered owner and staff.
Bath towels were very used and old.
WiFi didn’t work in our room.

The lady that owned it is brilliant, very laid back, and helpful. She gave us recommendations for dinner. Nice breakfast, and even though the bar isn't open, you can buy beer and wine there. Really enjoyed our stay.
Nothing, but it would be nice if there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room
