Very Good
The view was amazing! The room was clean, and it was really nice to see a mosquito net on the window. Despite the hot weather and the lack of air conditioning, the room stayed pleasantly cool. There was also a fan, but we didn’t even need to use it. Free parking on location
The pillow was very uncomfortable. I couldn’t sleep well the first night and ended up buying a pillow for myself at JYSK.
The location is very nice, but if you don’t have a car, it’s quite far from the city.
And the Wi-Fi — honestly, I was surprised it could be that bad in 2026.

Very good breakfast, arranged with care and great variety. The hotel is located in a beautiful forest very close to Trier. Our room was spacious, with a nice and new bathroom and free additional bed for our child.
There were a lot of wasps outside (in late August). There is a net on one of the windows, but they were very loud. The staff said they’re coming from the forest, so there’s not much they can do.

Very nice place to go away from the digital world and to have a relaxed atmosphere with a book or to go walking in the surrounding forest.
Unfortunately, there is no airconditioning in the room, but fortunately we stayed during the cooler summer days.

Wonderful
A beautiful old building set on top of a hill with a fabulous view over the city. The car park is large with plenty of room, and no additional charges. Rooms are large, with comfy beds and were very clean - Bathroom likewise, with plenty of towels. An honesty bar is available for beer, wine and soft drinks - currently no restaurant due to staffing.
Breakfast was very good with pastries, bacon, eggs, cold meats, yoghurt, etc. good coffee which is always a big plus.
Friendly staff who spoke english which was very helpful!
The property is a Berg Hotel so is remotely located - you cannot walk to shops, restaurants etc. Not a negative, just something to be aware of!

It was a quirky hotel and the location was lovely. Great breakfast, nice touch having a fridge with drinks.
It was a shame that the restaurant was closed, didn't find out about this until we booked and paid for the hotel. Think it would have been helpful if this was mentioned on the bookings.com website.

Very Poor
The location was nice.
I would not recommend booking a hotel here. Firstly, the location is absolutely stunning. Parking is free.
That's the positives I have. When arriving, everything looked a bit old and worn-out. However, we were not expecting a 5 star hotel, so all's good. Unfortunately, this story got much worse.
The host only really spoke German. Still, not too big of a fuss, after all we are guests in this country, so we tried our best to speak the language with our limited knowledge of it.
When we got to our room, everything looked a little dirty (don't look under the bed), but still acceptable. There was no mini fridge (it wasn't advertised as so, no problem).
There was a mobile AC for the heat. As it was 33°c degrees outside. We were happy with an AC. It was one of those old ones with a big exhaust pipe to hang out of the window. Therefore, we had to have the window open.
Later in the evening, we suddenly saw a big hornet in the room, on top of the curtains. It started flying around, against our legs and towards us. We quickly turned all the lights off and went in the bathroom. Then some minutes later, we made sure to turn the AC off and open the window fully, so it could escape. We waited for 30 minutes, safely in the bathroom. Then closed the window and started looking everywhere, whether it was gone. We even looked under the bed (hence noticing the dirt), behind the curtains, just everywhere you can think of. It seemed to finally be gone. We stayed up for another hour and after not hearing or seeing it, we thought it was gone. We noticed a hornet trying to get inside through the window and assumed it was the same one, attracted to the light of the room.
Therefore we finally went to sleep sometime after 1AM. at 6AM we both woke up to aggressive flying sounds against the window. Somehow, it had returned. Therefore, we decided to pack our bags quickly and go.

Nice view, good breakfast, water from the fridge
Everybody smokes outside the hotel, on the grass and on the terrace, no clean air
Strange rules, we are not allowed to eat our own dinner on the terrace although the hotel restaurant is closed, and we are not allowed to sit under the windows on the grass

Good
The location of the hotel - isolated and next to fields and forest
The place does not offer dinner and drinks are available in a fridge as a self service - not an issue in itself as long as you come prepared

Stunning location, yet quiet and peaceful
Friendly, helpful and hardworking owner
Great breakfast
No toilet facilities on the ground floor - one needs to use the bathroom in the bedroom (a bit inconvenient when you live on the second floor)
