Suuuuper friendly staff. Just a pleasure to arrive at this charming hotel. Wonderful garden looking out onto Schloss Gottorf; lovely sitting area in and outside. Excellent breakfast. Just the ideal place for those who love the charm of yesterday.

Location was great, beautiful garden and historic building. Room was nicely decorated, comfy and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent.

Old fashioned luxury with all modern conveniences. Lovely hostess who made us very welcome. Lovely light room and bathroom with big windows and cosy warm. Excellent breakfast. Nice waterfront to relax and Lovely local fishing village and viking centre to visit. Good local restaurants and beach bar

The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. My room was huge, and although it was on the street side it was very quiet. The hotel is close to some delicious restaurants.
It’s not that I didn’t like anything but if you are a solo female traveler you need to be aware there is no 24 hr reception so if you are late back to the hotel you have to let yourself in through a side door with a code (the staff take you through this and make sure you know how to get in) and I never felt unsafe.

Beautiful building which backs onto the the grounds of the castle (over the river). Lovely area to sit outside in the evenings, and the bar was available for us to use. Our room also had a view over the gardens. Wonderful staff who were helpful and kind. Breakfast was excellent.
The bathroom in our (very spacious) room was a little cramped. The hotel is on a main road, but we didn't notice this once in the hotel itself so it wasn't a problem. Good parking out the back.
