The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. My room was huge, and although it was on the street side it was very quiet. The hotel is close to some delicious restaurants.
It’s not that I didn’t like anything but if you are a solo female traveler you need to be aware there is no 24 hr reception so if you are late back to the hotel you have to let yourself in through a side door with a code (the staff take you through this and make sure you know how to get in) and I never felt unsafe.

Beautiful building which backs onto the the grounds of the castle (over the river). Lovely area to sit outside in the evenings, and the bar was available for us to use. Our room also had a view over the gardens. Wonderful staff who were helpful and kind. Breakfast was excellent.
The bathroom in our (very spacious) room was a little cramped. The hotel is on a main road, but we didn't notice this once in the hotel itself so it wasn't a problem. Good parking out the back.

The breakfast was not included, but I learnt it only after I ordered based on the reviews that mostly praised the breakfast. The area didn’t feel safe at night. The owners of the hotel insisted to call me on my phone and couldn’t understand I have a different sim when traveling abroad. They didn’t send me clear instructions for self checkin. I arrived at night and was bushwhacking to find the “side door”. It’s an old historic building nice from outside, but the room is filled with old cheap not matching furniture and it looks like army barracks. Also there were flies inside my room.

Interesting historical building. Very large rooms.
Booked two doubles, one for two people, the other for three. The triple was €25 more expensive with an extra bed but otherwise identical size to the double.
After booking the hotel phoned to say we could to pay an extra €25 if we wanted an extra bed in the triple rather than three sharing the double, and “if that was ok” they’d take payment for that now. I said it wasn’t ok as I’d already paid extra for the triple. I had to send them my booking confirmation by email before they relented. It’s just profiteering. The extra bed isn’t worth €25 anyway as the rooms are identical to doubles and breakfast is at an extra cost pp too.
The building is old and the rooms reflect that. They should however be cleaner. No one had swept under the double bed for a very long time!
