The staff were very cordial and helpful. They saw quickly to all our needs, and were willing to hold our luggage the whole next day while we visited the Herreninsel.
There was no dedicated heating in the room; only small space heaters for a large amount of space - but this is only a problem if visiting in winter. We also had to carry our luggage up to the third floor; there is no elevator - however, this is only a problem if you pack heavy like we did.

Great location with amazing breakfasts. Staff were great.
Wasn’t informed that the venue covered such a large area and ended up in house 2 which faced a very busy car park on the weekend we stayed with quite a distance to breakfast. No biggie but would have been nice to have been told in advance. Hotel was very clean and comfortable but no air con which on that weekend the temps were 26-28 degrees.

Wonderful
Lovely Alpine style hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. It is right next to the Chiemsee-Bahn Steam Railway and the Ferry to Herren-Chiemsee Palace. There are some limited restaurants nearby but you may need to go into the main town for food or a beer which is around 25mins walk. Walking along the path at the side of the Chiemsee Bahn saves you walking up the big hill between the two parts of the town. I will visit again.

Disappointing
Breakfast was excellent and location is top (in hotel N. 1).
The hotel was disappointing. We tought, we'll stay in hotel by the lake, but they put us in their hotel N. 2, which is really outdated, old and un unrenovated hotel, also creepy. We didn't feel cosy theere.

Location, location, location. It's right by the Prien harbor, steps away from the ferries to the islands.
Bed was broken when we got in late to our room. Some of the mattress supports were detached. It was past the reception desk closing by the time we got to the room so we took a picture, suffered through a night's sleep and reported it in the morning, expecting it to be fixed by the time we got back from the islands. It wasn't. The evening receptionist was lovely and helpful and chased the issue down and had her boss come fix it but it ended up sitting around a couple of hours which left us frustrated.

The photos were obviously photoshopped and were definitely not representative of the actual rooms. We paid extra for a lake view and indeed we did have a lake view from the balcony if you wrapped your toes through the wooden railing. There was absolutely no redeeming features
On the “fine print” it stated flat screen tv in each room but because of recent storms the tv did not work. There was no WiFi in the actual room but apparently there was in the common areas. No good when I have sensitive work! Booking.com should actually take hotels like this off their site!

Couldn’t be more convenient for lake steamers and the railway; nice view across lake to mountains.
Very helpful staff; excellent breakfast and good restaurant.
Not a complaint, but intending visitors should be aware that the Luitpold annexe is the budget option; perfectly clean, comfortable and functional, but not as swish as the main building.
