Exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Exceptionally good restaurant that specializes in traditional and locally sourced fare - and it stays busy. Location on a quiet street with easy access to main thoroughfares, shopping, the Altstadt, and Christmas markets. Good breakfast in a lovely, light room. We had a large bedroom and comfortable bed.
We were quite happy here and plan to stay again, although the older style bedrooms might not suit those who seek modern decor.

the breakfast staff — especially the waiter who was very kind and helpful. I also appreciated that my room was located on the 4th floor and found it spacious and comfortable. The bed linens were clean, and the bathroom was also nicely maintained, which I truly appreciated.
The area under the bed was full of dust and dirt, which clearly hadn’t been cleaned.
Around 11 PM, I stepped outside the hotel to smoke and found myself locked out. The automatic door was not working, and although I pressed the bell several times, no one was at the reception. I had to wait quite a while outside, which was frustrating. I strongly suggest installing a card-access system at the entrance to prevent such situations.
The Wi-Fi connection was very weak and not effective at all. I was unable to use it properly during my stay, which was quite disappointing.

One of these days they will offer real bacon rather than the chewy pork fat and actually learn how to scrabble eggs correctly.⁸

This hotel is in a perfect location to the Christmas markets, which were right around the corner. Also, it was very quiet on our street at night. The restaurant on site was also excellent, offering traditional German dishes.
The property had only positive qualities.

I struggled to like much about this hotel. The rooms were so basic, I felt like I was staying in a hostel. The beds were uncomfortable , there wasn’t one decoration or picture in the room, it was depressing. The hotel was so nicely decorated, it’s a shame they didn’t spend any time making the rooms look nice. The breakfast was basic, but the room was charming. It felt like it was a different place. Way overpriced for the type of accommodation. SO NOISEY! I was right by the elevator, like most of the rooms, You could everything through the walls. i had to sleep with headphones on. I couldn’t wait to leave. I would not recommend this hotel.

It was nicely located very close to the christkindlemarkets, very clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the staff woderfully helpful, efficient and nice. And, the price was quite reasonable for all this.
It could be a little noisy in the early morning, but nothing unbearable.

The restaurant at the hotel is very good. The rooms are clean and the hotel is centrally located. The breakfast is also very good.

In this 125 year old hotel, the main restaurant is full of German character. Interestingly my little solo room was quite simple and stark - but it certainly did the job. This hotel is a great location for exploring the old city (and just a 10-15 walk to main train station). Breakfast in the morning room one floor up was splendid. Staff were very helpful, selling me a Metrotrain/bus pass at my request.

Excellent location, staff, breakfast. The restaurant associated with the hotel offers reasonably priced traditional German food. Best red cabbage I have ever tasted accompanied the venison.

Excellent restaurant in the hotel. But the bad is a disaster. When you sit on it you sink below the level of the frame. Also needs a new shower head.
