Disappointing
Location and the staff at the hotel
It was hot, and the air conditioning wasn’t working. The view was horrible. There were some people working, screaming and arguing at the back of the hotel, all night long! It was impossible to get some sleep, due to the rooms being boiling hot and the terrible noises outside!

You know what you are getting with Leonardo, and for a budget price. It was clean and functional, and the staff were very friendly. Not too far from the town walls, so an easy walk into town. The hotel also has a car park that is off-road and not underground - important for tall vehicles. Air conditioning units were being fitted to all rooms, so I imagine in the coming months the rooms will be more tolerable when hot outside.
There is a homeless camp on adjacent land so we couldn't leave our ground floor windows open at night. There is also a lot of building work ongoing in the near vicinity. The area looks rather neglected. The car park charges €15 per night, and on top of the €16 per person per day your cheap room can soon become rather pricey.

**This is not the fault of the Hotel**
There seems to be a refugee hostel across the road, and groups of men congregate around the hotel in the evening making it a little intimidating for women. There are also people living rough in an adjacent building site both of which you have to walk past to get to town/restaurants/etc.

Personnel was understanding and gave me another room after complications. Hotel is 10-20 minute walk from centre.
First room had ants (fifth floor) and a broken drain. Second room also had 1 or 2 insects but I survived. The hotel is in an ugly neighbourhood, next door someone is building a literal slum on a demolished property site so prepare for hammering. No airconditioning at 32 degrees but theyre working on that.

My stay at the hotel was very pleasant and nice! The staff was helpful, welcoming and professional!
Even if it seems that the location and area is not so safe (as written in some reviews), it is very safe and near both: the city centre and main train station. I felt very secure, safe and comfortable during my stay, even if I was traveling alone.
The kind receptionists were there for any questions I had!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay here again!

Good location within easy walking distance of main station and near one of the gates into the old town. Good size room and bathroom; friendly staff. It was clean and dry.
The room had a coffee machine and the receptionist gave us a kettle to boil water for tea.
There is a terrace on the flat roof accessed from the 4th floor which admittedly was near our room but most people seem to stop using it by 11pm.
Only an American would get anxious about the building site next door or the slightly tatty shopping centre about 100 metres away. In reality it's all just fine.

Close to the old town, nice roof-top
We would have appreciated a mini-fridge in the room, and some kind of air-conditioning. It was very hot in the room at the morning hours already, opening windows wasn't an option and the little ventilator was way too inefficient.
