It's in a fantastic location; Handwekerhof is right in front of you as soon as you step outside. It's a hotel over 100 years old, the rooms are new, and the bathrooms are very spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful.
The coffee at breakfast is a little cold.

Breakfast was excellent. Superb location helpful.
I chose a smoke free hotel as I have asthma. Our room upon arrival stank of stale smoke. It was clean but nothing was done about the smoke. I had to negotiate a change of rooms which we eventually got after I pointed out that the smoke residue was likely to me into hospital. The staff was polite at all times - to their credit.
I still fail to understand how a hotel can be accredited as smoke free after such a negligence.

The room I had booked was too small but the reception staff very kindly sorted out a larger room for us and in fact gave us several options. They were so friendly, cheerful and accommodating and with excellent language skills. Helpful with directions and suggestions highlighted on the maps they provide.
I would say that breakfast would benefit with the option of providing toast and a regular cereal for guests.
