The receptionist was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the district.
Closed restaurant. Doors into bathroom were seeking and require lubrication. A few hall lights were not working.

Very comfortable hotel with accommodating staff. Easy to get to, both on foot from Altstadt and via U-Bahn. Room was great, with a nice set up and balcony. Breakfast was also great. The Saturday start time threw me a bit, but was well worth the extra booking fee.
My only issue was the bed. At 6'3", the bed was too short. That usually is not an issue, as my feet can hang off the end. But the configuration of my room was such that the bed was wedged between two walls, front and back. Even that shouldn't be an issue, but European beds have the oddest comforters...(2) twin comforters on a double bed, instead of a full comforter that would cover the entire bed. The result is sleeping diagonal on the bed while my feet fell out of the comforter.

Location is not the best considering walking to city center, but close to the sub so not really an issue.

The staff was nice. The breakfast was good. Convenient to public transportation.
This hotel was not was I was expecting. It still has the sign from the previous hotel about the awning so it's confusing from the get go. It was very run down with long dark corridors and stained carpets, and has a very dank odor. First I asked for a different room not so far away from the elevator and they proceeded to try and put me in the worst 2 rooms in the hotel. (One was over the pizza oven and was boiling hot and smelled like pizza) I finally settled on a room at the end of the hall which was near the garbage chute, which smelled, but luckily I couldn't smell it if I closed my door. The room was a decent size with a kitchenette. It wasn't particularly clean. The bathroom did not have a shower stall, just a shower head next to the sink and a flimsy shower curtain so when you showered water got all over the bathroom and had to be mopped up. The room had a balcony, which would have been nice except other guests were using theirs to smoke, so I had to keep it shut. The actual key to the room was weird, you had to rotate it 3 times to open the door. Going into breakfast is like going to a different hotel, lots of fresh food, good coffee and a nice bright breakfast room.
