Location was brilliant, right in the heart of the city. Staff were lovely and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend the restaurant for lunch, very tasty.

Comfortable and efficient single room. Very nice shower and bath. Quiet location off elevator above breakfast room. And an excellent breakfast it was as well. Helpful, friendly staff. I was looking for a modest hotel in the Altstadt within walking distance of all the old city attractions and restaurants and the Hotel Schlicker proved and excellent choice. Taxis and Hop On Hop Off sightseeing bus stop within a few meters. I would definitely return.
Wish the fan in the bathroom was independent of the light being on but not that big a deal. Surprised how many cigarette smokers (outside on the street and on Marienplatz) there still are in Germany but obviously not their doing.

Lovely little hotel in a superb location. Good value for money - nice to have coffee in the room, though it wasn’t that tasty. Great breakfast variety, served over an extended period. Brilliant that check out is 12pm and parking on site was very convenient.
Coffee capsules weren’t that tasty - but at least they had coffee and tea in the room

Perfect location for the various Christmas Markets, also close to the train station. Very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful each morning in the lovely breakfast room, breakfast staff always friendly. Would recommend.
Our rooms were tiny! Too small for 2 people with 2 suitcases and carryon. (We had rooms 100 and 101) I would book a larger room next time.

The location of this hotel is outstanding for touring the main sights in Munich, particularly the Christmas markets. A very short walk to Marienplatz, the Hofbrauhaus, the Residenz and more, as well as very easy access to the S-Bahn/U-Bahn. The staff was very friendly and helpful and our rooms were clean and comfortable.

The Breakfast is superb as is the breakfast wait staff. The dining room is very nicely decorated. The location cannot be beat if you are wanting to stay in old town. One block from the main plaza and lots of local markets and good dining nearby. Rooms were clean and plenty of hot water for showers. The hotel manager referred us to a little restruarant "off the beaten path" that was charming and excellent.
Rooms are on the small size even by European standards, with little space to hang clothes. The mattress on the bed was on the squishy side meaning it probably needs replacing. The little safe in our room did not work. Rooms on the front of the hotel do tend to get a lot of street noise which seems pretty constant throughout the night. Also there is beer hall next door. Patron's smoke outside and the smoke tends to drift up and into the windows so be cautious.

If you are visiting the Christmas markets or any of the major sites in Munich, this hotel is the perfect location. I had looked at other hotels that were just outside of Aldstadt, but I am so glad I chose this one. The location right next to Marienplatz meant that I could pop in during the middle of the day to rest, drop off my bags, or use the facilities. As a solo female traveler, I also feel safer being in an active part of town where there are always people on the streets.
Despite the downtown location, my room was so quiet at night! If this is important to you, you should book a room in the rear building. I booked a large single room, which was very spacious.
The breakfast in the morning was a wonderful way to start to the day, and the staff were always friendly and attentive. The staff at the front desk were also very friendly, and one gentleman even helped me find a clothing donation bin.
The S Bahn is a few minutes walk away so it was so easy to return to the airport. Highly recommend!
