The cost - exorbitant. More than $AU600 per night for 5 nights. Upfront, it was my fault for not getting a flexible rate. Booked from last night of Oktoberfest without knowing. When I asked to cancel 2 months out they refused. Could have offered the lower rate for other 4 nights but did not. So then I expected 4/5 star hotel for my money but it fell short in several ways …rooms are small with no air conditioning. WIFI was unreliable all the time and as it was ‘Bavaria wifi’ offered I think that was just a free local area network anyway. Offered no Netflix or other subscription service. The modern decoration could have been nice except it was very dimly lit so no good for older people and had low hanging pendant lights we kept knocking in to. Bathroom is tiny. It is very close to Oktoberfest field - great if that’s what you’re into - but too far to walk to centre of town. That said transport around Munich is good and easy. Breakfast, the only meal provided, was fresh and varied except they had just one small Bain Marie with tiny sausage and scrambled eggs.
Yes, my view is coloured by the unreasonable rate I had to pay and whilst the hotel has been modernised, at that rate per night I expect a better bigger room - air conditioning at the very least - better location and decent WIFI.

Super friendly staff and comfortable accommodation.
We struck a heatwave and thunderstorm, so the fan just wasn’t enough. But normally it would be a great option.

The bedroom was great, nice to have windows that open which is not something you get often in hotels. Bed was comfy, staff were nice. I enjoyed staying out of the city centre a bit as westend park is extremely nice.
