The hotel is in a great location, the rooms have a good size and were clean and comfortable
Unfortunately, the service did not live up to the "Grandhotel" title. Especially at breakfast, the selection was very limited, during the middle of breakfast already quite empty and not being refilled in time. The sfatt was not attentive and overwhelmed. They had almost no time between cleaning tables to take any orders. Also the food, when ordered, was not well done (waffles dry for example) and cold by the time it arrived at the table. Also high speed internet is only available for reward members while paying guest can only access low speed internet. That is not appropriate for any hotel, let alone for this price per night or the kind of hotel the Steigenberger is looking to be.

A lovely comfortable room, friendly staff, good breakfast and the location could not be bettered. We found the room a little cold and the warm air from the AC made me cough - but that is my issue. Overall a really good stay and we’d be happy to return.

Very comfortable, slightly old-fashioned hotel but very well-appointed facilities. Excellent room service.
I received an e-mail a few days before the visit offering me an e-upgrade for a fee. But when I arrived, there was no upgrade and the reception staff didn't even seem to know about the scheme.
