Very cold in the room. And we talked about february !!! Reason : protecting nature and atmosphere (they inform you trough some posters about it ). After 9 pm, cut off heat totaly !
150 euro guarantee ! I recovered money after 50 days !
After 7 pm you can't made check in because after that, nobody is there

Super clean and tidy room, comfortable beds. Bit of a strange set up, it's a former campus that has university accommodation vibes. Separate bathrooms etc.
The location is rubbish, it's well out of town. Can be accessed easy enough on the tram, but there's nothing nearby

The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, shared bathrooms were well maintained and clean. Property was easy to find and the staff were kind and helpful.
Reception desk only had rather short operating hours. This was not an issue for us as we arrived before the closing time, but had we been delayed or were unable to arrive before this time, it may have presented difficulties.

Pictures don't do it justice. Well equipped modern furnished room in historic building. Really helpful staff.
Not a negative but the pictures show the garden and back yard. The entrance is in a building on the main street. The fact that it is out of the city centre is not a problem if you are happy taking the 7 min tram ride. Trams are frequent.

Proximity to the main train station, friendly staff, cleanliness of the rooms, toilets and hostel in general. I didn't try out the bakery associated with this property.
It doesn't matter how good the staff is or how clean the room is or how comfy the bed is. If the room is zero sound-proof and if you hear everything from the floors above and below, nothing can save the property. There was no discipline during the weekend and guests entered at random times, even 3-4 AM and whenever they took those thick, dark red wooden steps, it made a ton of noise and spoiled my sleep. I could just sleep only for a couple of hours on my first day and slightly more on the second day. This property is definitely NOT for someone who needs peace and quiet at night without random, inconsiderate strangers entering at weird times at night. Also remember that this property doesn't have elevators, which would've made the wooden steps issue slightly better.
I also feel cheated by booking.com for saying that this property has "Private bathrooms". It does not! In my case on the second floor, a bathroom was shared by 4 rooms. The property mentioned that "Private bathroom" is NOT a room containing an attached bathroom but a shared bathroom which you can lock in for private use. Again, doesn't make sense! @Booking.com, please change your listing for this property accordingly.
I've stayed at many hostels, Jugendherberge before (Berlin, Dresden), but this hostel is by far the worst I've ever been to (even worse than my experience at the Sleepy Lion hostel, Leipzig). I'm thankful that my stay was just for a couple of days and I don't intend to book at this property again! Good riddance!

I like the 'concept'
rooms and bathroom had a nice make-over since my last stay...decent and clean!
on the other hand the 'noice' (stomping footsteps, slamming doors, -laughing and shouting at 05 am of the night!!- coming from the adjoining rooms and especially from the staircase and hallway havent changed (it's an old building...) pitty...
check in time is rather late
a bit far from the citycenter (aprc.45 min walk) although there's a tramway..

it was generally clean, even the shared facilities was always clean and i really appreciated that as i don't like sharing facilities because you can't trust others to keep it clean. the remote controlled light and fan was nice. check in and check out process was very smooth.
the duvet cover and pillow cover had a faint odour, i would have preferred no odor or a fresh linen scent. but the odor could either be the beddings were washed long time ago or it was simply not washed - i could be wrong but the linen definitely was not fresh and had a faint odor and that made me a little paranoid and wishing i had brought my own beddings. the furnishings could be updated to be more modern, it all seems old and mismatched

I cannot mention what I really liked about this so-called hotel. My recommendation: Do not book any room at this hotel.
It was not a well-equipped hotel. We had to wait about 20 minutes for check-in. There was no internet connection at all... Most importantly, There was no lift and we had to take the stairs up to the 4th floor.

The room is clean and equipped with necessary equipment.
The door and the wall are not sound proof. You basically hear people open and shut the door. It was quite difficult at night when your neighboor was in and out the room.
