I only made a quick stop in Leipzig and spent two nights in this hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, and the person at the desk welcomed me pleasantly. The hotel itself is not really in the city center, but there is a bus, which stops almost in front of it and brings you to the main train station in less than 20 minutes. Overall, I am quite satisfied of my stay.
As said, I had a good experience while staying at Merseburger Hof and I have no major concerns. The only thing I noticed is that sometimes the wi-fi was having some small problems in my room, but this was only temporary and the connection was back after a few seconds.

The location was the reason I chose this accommodation for: it was next to the place I worked at. The room was really quiet, both during the night and during the morning hours, and quiet is my main requirement for accommodation.
The bathroom was pretty cold. Am not sure if there is anything they can do about it though.

Easy to check in and out. Close to a tram stop so easy to get to where I needed to. Supermarket nearby.
After I was checked in, someone else was accidentally given a card that opened my door so I felt very unsafe for the remainder of my trip. Room was a bit dirty - found a few blonde hairs in the shower before using it (and I have dark hair so there was no way they could have been mine either way). One of the lights at the side of the bed didn't work and although I really liked the fact the TV could play YouTube, the connection seemed to be a bit funky as the screen constantly flashed when using YouTube. It seemed to work fine with Netflix and normal TV though. No plug sockets near the bed but I suppose it was to be expected as it seemed to be quite an old/dated building. Last time I stayed here it was just one night as a place to sleep, which was fine, but for more than one night (like this trip was) I'd look elsewhere next time.

It was not my first stay in this hotel. I like it. The hotel is very comfy for sleeping. It is situated in a quiet district. The S-Bahn Station is nearby, and one can reach the downtown area in 20 minutes. The staff was very friendly.
