The Fürstenhof looks back on an extraordinary, traditional history. Built in the style of a classicist city palace, it was used as a home for the Löhr banking family when it was built in 1770. The Serpentine Hall, which is unique in the world and was still privately owned, was built in 1865. Serpentine is a metamorphic natural stone of igneous origin and around two million years old. The Fürstenhof has been operated as a hotel since 1890 and has developed into one of the world's most beautiful premium hotels. The Art Nouveau facade was restored in 2022. Based on the traditional history, a high-quality, family-run boutique hotel with over 100 rooms and suites, a restaurant, and a breakfast area was built in 2024. The exceptional location in the city center and the hotel's own underground car park with access to the hotel make the house your ideal starting point.

Lovely property! The room was a nice size and the bed was very comfortable. Staff is very friendly. It is SUPER close to all kinds of transit options and an easy walk from the train station. The shower was great.

The Lumière Boutiquehotel im Fürstenhof Leipzig is located in an impressive historic building in the style of a classic grand hotel, with generous architecture, high ceilings and an elegant atmosphere reminiscent of the great hotel tradition of the early 20th century. The location is also excellent, practically already in the centre of Leipzig, with the shopping arcades and old town reachable within 5–10 minutes on foot. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast excellent, with a large selection and freshly prepared egg dishes made to order. My room was cosy and modern, although a little dark – single travellers probably also tend to get the rooms without much view here. The bathroom was very modern and had a large shower.
However, and this is why I cannot give the hotel 10/10, there was an “Ibiza style” party event with DJs, live acts and shows taking place in the hotel on Saturday evening. I had been warned that it might be somewhat noisy, but this was honestly excessive. Until 2 a.m., the bed and the entire room were vibrating from the bass, and even with earplugs plus noise-reduction headphones, sleeping was impossible. In my opinion, the receptionist should definitely not have assigned me a first-floor room directly above the event when I checked in. The staff did apologise afterwards, but unfortunately that could not make up for the ruined Sunday after a sleepless night. I would only return to this hotel if I could be sure that no similar event was taking place during my stay.
