The owner was very friendly and ready to help with anything we needed. The room was quite small but that meant we could heat it up very quickly with the radiator. The property was quiet at night and the bed was quite comfortable. The wi-fi worked very well
Some elements in the room (light bulbs, wall hangers) could use some renovation. The property is far from the city so using public transport can be a little tricky. The pillows are the big thin kind which is common in Germany but not that comfy

The bathroom was OK, newly renovated. We had a tripple room, it was good that the single bed was separated from the double bed by a partial wall.
We were missing tissues, tea/coffee facility and fruit at breakfast. It was rather cold in the corridor/staircase and not very warm in the room. There was laminate floor, no carpet. The bedside lamp was too high, you have to get out of bed to switch it off. In the morning we were woken up by noisy traffic.

NEVER MAKE A BOOKING TO THIS HOTEL!
The owner was the most incorrect and unrespectable person I ever met and I travel a lot. Even if I have booked one month ahead, the same day I was expected to arrive at the hotel he contacted my by phone, shipping any Bookings.com procedure, saying me that there was a mistake by bookings on my reservation and he could only offer me a room for a double price. I came there to understand what was the problem and he treated me not nicely saying that he didn't care about Booking.com rates, he wanted to give me and charge whatever he had at the moment because he was the owner. I had to leave so never go there! not professional and a disgusting person.

USB power plugs at the of the beds would be good as travellers we needed to charge our phones, also the Wi-Fi barely reached the room on the top floor. Bathroom was execellent,

Owner pretty friendly
I was only person staying. Arrived 4.45 pm....hungry. kitchen about to close. Only Indian menu. All alone overnight. Had to let myself out ( front door locked ) and put key thro letterbox. Very bizarre. Also several miles from Kastel

This is an old guesthouse that has been here for over a century. The remote location in the countryside is very peaceful. The owner is a real character, couldn't have been more helpful or friendlier. This hotel is one of the most charming places I have ever stayed at.
