This was our first visit to Kassel and Hotel Gude was suggested as a place to stay as it was near to the location of a family wedding which we were attending. We loved everything about the hotel: the staff were very helpful and accommodating; for example providing us with a kettle to use in our room and enabling us to store our luggage on a night we spent away from the hotel; the room was large and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was superb. If we visit Kassel again we will definitely stay at this hotel.

Good parking, spacious rooms, variety of options for breakfast, nice night bar, warm reception personnel speaking 3 languages of your choice.
A bit pricey (130 euro for 1 night for two, from them about 40 go for breakfast and parking.

The hotel was located close to the Autobahn, which was our main criteria because we needed a place to break up a long car journey with a toddler. Staff were fabulous - friendly, helpful, very pleasant all around (hotel and restaurant). The room was spacious, which was nice. A cot was also available upon request. Food at the restaurant was delicious but quite pricey. Big plus as well: they have a charging station for electric cars on their parking lot. Their little guide booklets were a cute and creative touch, one was for Kassel and the other for the local neighbourhood, with a recommended walking route included. We actually took that walk and it was a pleasant way to stretch our legs after the journey.
The pictures on the Booking.com site clearly show the rooms in the new annex/building, whereas we were staying in the older, very 90's part of the hotel. The skylight window wouldn't close all the way and had mold all around the frame, the curtains looked old and yellow (and were not blackout blinds, so the room was *very* bright for bedtime, a big issue for those with small kids), and the balcony was unusable because badly aged and very uninviting. It desperately needs a high pressure wash. Also, the location itself is only really good for travellers like us, passing through, or individuals visiting local friends and family - the immediate neighbourhood doesn't offer anything to do, so I wouldn't recommend it for a Kassel city stay. But, horses for courses and for us, it was fine.

Had a fine stay travelling through. Breakfast was wonderful, clean bathroom. Near the freeway so that was a plus for us.
The room was kinda warm and we couldn't change the temperature because we didn't knew how to. There was no manual or "quick guide" te be found. We kept the windows open during the night as an alternative.
