Wonderful
Big sleeping room and bathroom. Very friendly hosts. Quiet location with darkening shades on the windows. Comfortable bed and good shower. Access to a shared kitchenette. Free parking.
There was a little shelf right above the bed which I was worried I would hit my head on every time I sat up or rolled over. Suggest this shelf be removed as it's not needed. A little far from Jena central (can't walk), but that also meant it was very quiet for sleeping.

The hotel belongs to an old couple. They do everything by themselves from maintenance to cleaning. It's clean. There's everything you need. The one thing worth mentioning for those who travel without car is that the hotel is on a slope hill. It was difficult with bicycle. The owner went out if way to help me with commuting. I'm very satisfied and thankful.

Although my German language is not good but their support is exceptional. The mountain view and the planted various flowers make the peacful atmosphere more interesting. One of the reasons I always book this hotel whenever I come to Jena for work is their breakfast ?

Someone like us Traveling without car (public transport not close) has to be prepared to walk daily 1.5-2.5 km to the different restaurants for dinner.

It was quiet, clean and the mattress was comfortable
The owner was not friendly. He never smiled once and would never reply with "bitteschön" when I said "dankeschön". He was annoyed when I asked to check out at 10:00 (I was driving across Germany, so needed to rest) which is a very normal check out time. In the end, the latest I could stay until was 9:45. I was always polite with him but he generally just seemed annoyed at my presence. I did not feel welcome at all. Not recommended if you do not speak German.
