Well to be positive, the staff were nice and we actually slept ok as it was quiet, plus the bedsheets themselves were stain free. And the city centre of Heidelberg is very nice and worth a visit (not the hotel location)
The foyer, the lifts and the room were dirty. Something nearby was triggering my allergies, my nostrils were burning and I had to use my inhaler which I rarely do. We saw on maps that there was a dust producing factory close-by. The room was extremely dated. Our bathroom smelt like sewage systems which got worse in the morning - it was a very strong and disgusting smell. The remote didn’t work, we managed to get the tv on and couldn’t turn it off. Tried to charge something and the plug was falling apart. And got an electric shock from the switch to call for the lift. I didn’t want to touch much in the room because of how gross it felt. The bedsheets were actually clean but nothing else. I was totally blindsided by the 8.1 reviews and how everyone was saying it was clean!!! Complete opposite!! Location was on the outskirts and right next to a petrol station. Didn’t make a complaint as it was late and we were tired and after seeing the foyer and lift being dusty I figured a change of room wouldn’t do much.
