Breakfast was plenty but very bacis (no eggs?!), room was really nice and clean, the location is very good for those who arrive with kids to visit the ZOO

Location a bit remote.
Very basic room and service. Not a real chair in the room.
They want you to set your bed a later throw to laundry.
All this you might expect in a youth hostel, however, this was a part of a long trip to Germany with various 2&3 stars hotels. The price for room was above average. For this type of room you should pay 3 times less.
Mark on booking.com is to high for the price.

I had a very disappointing experience with this booking. Nowhere in the reservation process did it mention that this is a youth hostel, and the pictures were misleading. It was my worst experience with booking.com to date. I chose this place primarily because it advertised parking, but upon arrival, there were only 8-10 spaces, all of which were already taken. The booking.com description claimed there was parking, but the hotel’s confirmation message clarified that there are only a few spaces available. This felt like a complete example of clickbait. The hygiene standards were extremely poor; there wasn't even soap in the toilets, and the rooms and beds were filthy. If you're searching for a hotel, I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

Friendly staff who also helped us with some tools for repairing one of the bicycles. Very good breakfast. No traffic noise.
Rooms are relatively small and quite basic (which you also expect at a Jugendherberge).

Breakfast was nice. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly.
We did not get dinner because we arrived a bit late (about 7 p.m.) and we did know that we had to order in advance.

Useful low cost modern and clean Yoth Hostel style Hotel. Everythnig was basic, functional and spotlessly clean. No frills, a simple bed, a good shower, two chairs and a small table comprised the rooms - rather like a University Hall of residence room. Breakfast was self-serve, with a good range of cereals, breads, rolls, fruit, meats and cheeses, plus the usual drinks.
The whole place was DiY - strip your own beds, clean up after yourself, clear you own table etc. but it worked really well. And the price was very competetive (IMHO) for Heidelberg.
Their Bistro was closed in the evenings - but it was the low season. They charge a bit more if you're over 27!!!
Apart from that, there was nothing not to like!
