Located in the Boxberg district of Heidelberg, you'll find the Hotel ISG, which has been part of the world-renowned European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg for over 35 years. The hotel is regularly modernized without altering its familiar, traditional style. Some of our staff have been with the hotel for years and are known for their friendliness and competence, making the hotel a popular destination for scientists and visitors to the EMBL, as well as business travelers and tourists. The city center can be reached in approximately 20 minutes by car or within approximately 25 minutes by public transport. A bus stop is located directly in front of the hotel. Thanks to the convenient connection to the A5 and A6 motorways, you can also reach cities such as Mannheim, Sinsheim, and Speyer without major detours. Our comfortable nonsmoking rooms differ primarily in their location and size. Some rooms offer a beautiful view of the Rhine plain and the Palatinate Forest. All of our hotel rooms are air-conditioned and feature a balcony, a telephone, a coffee and tea station with a kettle, a desk, seating, and a flat-screen cable TV. Our single and double rooms also have a small refrigerator. Thanks to the newly installed vinyl flooring, our rooms are also allergy-friendly. A complimentary bottle of mineral water awaits you on the day of arrival. The separate bathrooms are equipped with a shower, toilet, and hairdryer. Pets are also welcome – for a fee of €10.00 per pet per night. The adjacent forest is ideal for long walks. As our hotel guests, you can use the sauna and fitness area free of charge. Our daily extensive breakfast buffet or the à la carte service in our restaurant with beer garden will ensure your physical well-being. Those who feel like it can try their luck on our boules court. You can park your car in one of our free parking spaces (limited spaces), in the surrounding area, or in our underground garage (for a fee). We look forward to your visit!

It’s a quiet place close to the city. The restaurant offers a tasty menu and the staff is very nice. Room was clean and silent. Perfect for the weekend.
The fitness area has little to no equipment but the row machine makes up for it.

Great ambiance, retro-vibe while comfort is on par with todays standards. Staff is super friendly and really making an effort. They made us feel welcome during our very short stay.
All was great. One point to mention is that there is a frequent bus (every 15 minutes?) on the road below the hotel. This is a bit annoying when sleeping with the windows open, but didn’t bother us too much.
