This hotel is in a fantastic location—right by the Castle, the pedestrian path lined with shops and restaurants, and the Christmas markets. Having parking available in the underground garage was a huge plus since we had a rental car. The front desk is staffed 24/7, and everyone we interacted with was polite and very helpful with local information.
Our room was spacious, spotless, and offered a beautiful view of the city. Breakfast was enjoyable, mainly continental, with the added bonus of coffee drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and hot chocolate. Overall, this is a true gem and I highly recommend it for anyone staying in Heidelberg .
More protein options at breakfast would have been nice.

The staff member at reception on our arrival greeted us warmly and offered us a lot of information to help us enjoy our stay in Heidelberg. Our room was spacious (good for a family of four). I was glad our window did not open on to the terrace, because smokers used the terrace, and I would not have liked the cigarette smoke drifting into our room. The view of the castle from the terrace was just as we hoped for - excellent. We enjoyed watching the castle lights come on at dusk. The location of the building was splendid for simply walking outside and into the heart of the old town. Don't be put off by the hotel being on top of a parking garage! Also, there wasn't any disturbance at the hotel from the funicular that runs to and from the bottom of the building, since it runs quietly and is shielded from view by trees. The breakfast was of good quality and servers were attentive. Every member of the desk greeted us warmly. Books and magazines and umbrellas were available to borrow. We felt very lucky to have enjoyed this accommodation.
It wasn't pleasant to have cigarette smoke, from people on the terrace, drift into the dining area when we were having breakfast. Also, some of the rooms opened directly into the small breakfast dining room, so I was glad our room was located further away, along a corridor. I was hesitant about the hotel entrance being via a parking garage elevator, but that was okay.

Great location at the base of the castle. The staff were very helpful with suggestions for thins to do and places to eat. Decent breakfast.
Had to carry suitcases up several steps. Hard for me due to arthritis.

The hotel was in a fantastic location with parking on site (for pay). The staff was very helpful (even tried to help with my lost passport). Breakfast was yummy. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here during a recent trip to Germany. Jim was flexible, caring and went WAY above and beyond to make sure our arrival was safe and as stress free as possible. We had unexpected delays in our arrival, but he waited and made sure were were taken care of. We can't thank him enough...thank you so so much!! Much love from Colorado, USA!

The location was great for seeing the Christmas markets, the castle, the famous bridge , and everything else Heidelberg had to offer. The room was clean and fresh and the breakfast was typically German and delicious. The staff were all very nice and extremely helpful.

All the staff were warm, welcoming and receptive to requests. They thought there was going to be one person in each room. When I requested the beds to be separated, they sent 2 people to help immediately and re-made the beds. Rooms were immaculate! We had a view of the Heidelberg Castle. Breakfast buffet offered many options! So much to choose from! Everything was delicious! Can't beat the location to Heidelberg Castle and the tram! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here!

Perfect location! Close to the Christmas markets, shops, castle, etc. Everything is within walking distance. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the room was clean!
The ONLY thing that I did not like was the noise on the street. Even with the window closed, you could hear people yelling at 1-2am. My room faced the castle, so the noise came from the back road near the entrance of the parking garage.
I did not take this into consideration when rating the hotel, as the hotel has absolutely no control of public roads.

Fantastic location! So amazing to wake up in the morning, open the curtains, and the castle was right there! I could very easily drop my Christmas market purchases in my room and head back out again.
