The hotel was just renovated and we liked the appearance of the place. The room was spacious, quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. the breakfast room with canal view is fantastic. We liked the burger in the restaurant and hope we can come back in the summer when the terraces are open. Also, the well equipped gym has a great view. But the best part of the Steigenberger is the location on a canal right in the city center.

The location and the view in the Riverside was amazing, specially with the snowfalls and the city lights at night with the panoramic view
To a bit high price on the dates that I stay further more I didn’t see any facilities more than the gym and sauna. Also there wasn’t any internal smoking areas which it make it harder during the winter nights.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was very comfortable. Staff supplied good quality umbrellas on the rainy days We had dinner in the hotel restaurant on saturday and it was delicious
The opening hours of the sauna are a bit complicated. Opens at 5 mon to fri. 2 on sat and 4 on sunday. Earlier opening would be better

There is a lovely breakfast area and the brunch is delicious. The location is amazing and it is very easy to walk around the city.
If you are a single traveler you will need to specify that you want a double bed. I was set up with two single beds that could not be pushed together. Also the spa is only open in the evening. I was not aware of this at check-in.

The reception service was unacceptable. Despite completing online check-in, our room was still not ready by 3:30 p.m. The receptionist said no rooms with a double bed and river view were available, even though this was clearly stated in our booking. After I complained, she found one — but when I entered, I discovered the room was already occupied by other guests. After apologizing, receptionist offered another room, which lacked the paid river view. Only after speaking with the manager did we finally receive the correct room

The cleanliness was absolutely exceptional – spotless in every corner. The room was beautifully designed, modern, fresh, and super well-organized. I loved the interior so much that I actually got inspired to use some of the ideas in my own home design! The bathroom was pristine, fully updated, and felt very high-end. The furniture looked new, elegant, and perfectly maintained. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, always helpful and welcoming, which made the stay feel even more comfortable. I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially its quality and presentation. However, I would love to see more vegetarian options and clearer separation between vegetarian items and meat sections in the future. This hotel honestly made me fall even more in love with my trip to Hamburg. I’m definitely planning to come back to the city – and without a doubt, I’ll be staying here again. It’s already on my list for my next visit. ?
