So many things about Scandic were very good - the location being right next to a train station and in a really good neighbourhood of Hamburg with lovely restaurants near by but still easy to walk into "main" part of the city or out to the trendy suburb near by. our room was really nicely decorated and very large. we chose a suite that included the lounge facilities and this was excellent. a really nice space with drinks and snacks and a very nice breakfast included. the staff were helpful and friendly. we used the gym and the sauna which was relaxing and well appointed. I also liked the approach Scandic has towards not wasting on water, food or resources which we also value. they clearly try to source quality products. there is a little area at the reception if people wanted to purchase some drinks/snacks etc that was a good idea also. we did not eat at the main breakfast space or restaurant so I cannot comment other to say it looked very nice.

Air ventilation had some metallic/vibrating loud noice. Reception refused to change room and promised to come and check - nobody came. Where not possible to sleep without ear plugs. Bad smell in bathroom.
