The basin and toilet in the bathroom were suitable only for very short people.

Having arrived from a 21 hour flight, the room was a sight for sore eyes. Comfy beds, good heating and a decent bathroom made for a great first night in Hamburg. Breakfast wasn't of the range of larger hotels, but still had a great variety of choices, and the enclosed balcony dining area was lovely. Easy 5 minute walk from the main train station, the lake and shopping/restaurant areas.
No dislikes - very nice little hotel.

Okay, so it is an older building, so don't expect spacious, purpose built modern facilities. If you do expect, however, a warm welcome, spotlessly clean comfortable rooms, a very cosy bar area (with a free drink!), a very good breakfast and extremely helpful welcoming staff, all wrapped up in a very convenient location....you will not be disappointed!

I stayed here six years ago and it is still as good as I found it then. My abiding memory was of a superb breakfast and that remains true - an excellent selection of everything. My room was a good size with a comfortable bed and well-equipped bathroom. The hotel is well-situated, only 5 minutes walk from the main railway station. The staff are very friendly. Within 3 or 4 days they knew my room number without my having to ask for my key or for coffee at breakfast. When I had a problem with the shower it was repaired within an hour.
The Wi-Fi was generally good but didn't always connect at the first attempt.

The staff were helpful and the hotel was clean. The coffee was really good
Although there was hot food for breakfast this was limited choice. There was no parking directly at the hotel and alternative cost €50 a night which we were not anticipating as we thought there was parking linked with the hotel and that this was included. Theres no USB charging points so you will need an adapter

Excellent location. Handy for public transport / taxi rank. Easy walking to central Hamburg. Well equipped room, coffee maker, fridge, storage space, comfortable bed and chairs. Warm and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.

Breakfast had a good selection. Including typical German cold meats and cheeses also with a warm choice and fruit. A good variety of speciality teas too. Short walk to the Main Railway station, Tour buses and main city shopping area. Great for Christmas Markets.
Some of the decor in our room was looking a little tired. Example- mirror on the wardrobe door taped where it had been damaged, stains on the cushion in coat hanging area. Nothing to spoil our stay though.
