It's a unique hotel, the decor was interesting. The owner is wonderful!
There was smoking everywhere without concern of being indoors. The red lights in the room were hard to turn off for the night.

Friendly owner, charming decor inside apartment.
I found out only after I arrived that this hotel is right in the middle of a sex district. The owner and another Hamburg resident I talked to said the Reeperbahn district is perfectly safe. That may be so, but I didn't enjoy walking past the sex shops and the homeless people asleep on the street every morning and when I returned from my exhibition in the evenings. On two nights, I saw a pair of police officers on the street talking to people. Among other problems was that the apartment was hot had not even a fan. I asked the owner for a fan one morning and, at first, he refused, saying nothing could be done about the climate. I had to stew about this response all day. When I arrived back to the room in the evening, there was a small fan there, but not really enough to keep me cool. Also, the TV channels had no English programs--even the programs originally in English were dubbed in German. Finally, the one thing I really liked was the coffeemaker, but it didn't work for most of my stay.

Ronny is a super host. Room was big. Everything was there. Location could not be better. Ronny owns as well a bar arrondissement the corner which is a great place to go.
Beds had a bit of a hole in the middle. The shower was a bit blocked, which made it a bit hard to shower decent

Spaciousness. Location (nearby metro & good restaurants). We would defenity return any time.

Location. Friendliness of Ronny. Proximity to public transport. Room was a small double but had everything we needed and we spent very little time in it anyway. Too busy having a good time! Nice and quiet for a good night's sleep. The pub and the cafe Ronny recommended were both excellent.
Nothing. Would stay there again if we were lucky enough to get a room there. It's got a very high occupancy rate.

It was quite an interesting accommodation and location. The bar and free coffee was nice.
The moment you get out of the room you can can smell tobacco since theres a guy smoking inside, which can be inconvenient.
The shower seems a bit outdated.

Ronny and all the people working there were very friendly. I like that there is a breakfast discount for a bakery nearby and the breakfast was quite good. Nice touches like various lights in the room, stereo, TV etc. Even some chocolate on the bed table which shows attention to details. Bed was super comfortable and the place was perfectly located and very quiet. All in all, very nice! Thanks Ronny!
Smell a bit of smoke, but so does the whole neighborhood of St. Pauli. Else, nothing.

Outstanding character and charm, super nice management, large comfortable room, very convenient to transit (subway entrance literally in front of the building) and the riverfront. Will book again! We particularly appreciated the disco showerhead and the lovely little inner balcony space in our room.
We both are in street-vulnerable demographics and we felt perfectly safe by day or night walking around in the neighborhood, but strangers to Hamburg may like to be aware in advance that there are some risqué establishments nearby.

Cosy room was nicely decorated with an extremely comfortable bed. Ronny was reachable easily per phone, and the check-in went smoothly. We had a room with a view on the backside of the Reeperbahn. We had a very restful and quiet night. Price and quality top. It is difficult to find something better in Hamburg.
The big pillows, but pillows are very individual taste.
