Hotel was outdated and the layout was confusing. Room is extremely dimly lit and also dirty. The area where the extra linens were kept was filthy, full of hair and dust. It had clearly not been cleaned for a long time. Hotel had also charged me twice and I was incorrectly refunded. When I questioned them about this they said they couldn’t help me. Definitely not worth the money

There was no coffee or coffee pot in the room and the pillows were extremely flat.

Apparently there is a discount card called the Füssen card. I didn’t know to ask for & they didn’t offer it. I don’t even know if they offer it period. Only the ticket office at Neuschwanstein asked if I had one for a discount.

But, one thing we found annoying was that although they have a Mini Bar fully stocked with drinks (Coke, Beer etc), you can not open them as there is NO bottle opener in the room to pry the lids off of the bottles. Weird! You can’t drink any of them- What a waste of a chance to capture extra Euros from the guest. Also, there is NO KETTLE in the room at all, so therefore no coffee/tea offered in the room, similar to a 2 star hotel/hostel type accommodation. When you have had a full day out walking/sightseeing, there is nothing better than having the convenience of a drink in your room. So we went out and bought our own drinks, placed them in the Mini Bar in the room and used that instead. This was mentioned to reception when I checked out and I was told that they don’t have a kettle or bottle opener as people ‘steal’ them. This is possibly true for the bottle opener, but I call out lies with the kettle. I think it is more the hotel being cheap, stingy and cost cutting. With the bottle opener, not every house guest would steal it each time. I was told I should had contacted reception to borrow one to use. This would had been good to know when we checked in. I have never had to request a kettle before, so it was assumed they don’t offer this service. It would have saved us going out to buy drinks to use in the room, and more importantly, the Hotel wouldn’t had lost revenue or the missed opportunity of upselling drinks. I suggested to reception to tell management that most hotels have a permanent bottle opener fixed to a wall close to the mini bar, and I wouldn’t think that would be too hard or expensive to install, as well as guests wouldn’t be unscrewing these! I also suggested that ordering 10,000 bottle openers with their hotel name on the side from China/Temu etc, would probably cost an Euro each, and would not only be a good to have in the room, but if it is ‘stolen’, it would be advertising their hotel world wide.

They marketed this as a luxury hotel however it is bare minimum. No water kettle in room even though it said it had. Everything is closed early and their breakfast is so late it’s hard if you want to go to castle early. Pictures looked a lot better than the actual stay.

Parking garage was hard to get in and out of, very narrow

Our one bathroom only room has no mirror. Would be nice to have a small mirror to make use of that.

The entire hotel is built very strangely. The rooms have a strange smell (reminded us of cigarettes). We had to cross buildings and lifts to get to our rooms + stairs with our suitcases which was not cool. Complementary bottle of water half empty, like it has not been replaced from the previous guests.

The room lights are not sufficient for reading or working ,too dark.Too expensive in comparison to hotels in Frankfurt or Munchen,

A/C was terrible. Might as well advertise as not having.

It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in throughout our trip. It seemed a bit overpriced.

The room is small and could be updated.
