the locaiton is okay.
The man at the reception is really unhappy and has bad vibes. I asked some questions and he didn't want to answer. It was really hard to communicate with him. There was no water in the room (only sparkling soda) and when i asked for water he told me that icant have water everyday, i can buy it for 7.90 euros. There was no slippers in room and they don't have it. And the bathroom was not clean at all. This is the worst hotel experience for me.

You get a fair and standard package at this hotel.
I had a serious safety issue that could be dangerous and deadly. The cable of the iron was naked which is absolutely unusual in Germany and I noticed that just after using the iron. I could easily die if the naked part had touched my skin!!!! Such failures are not acceptable and shows a low safety standard in this hotel. The hotel must explain about it and prove such a mistake does not happen again.

Breakfast - I would say the only thing was good....
- Too dusty , I sneezed constantly;
- Not enough light in the room;
- Drug addicts at the subway station nearby - not the best location - I didn't feel safe there returning to the hotel at the evening;
- And the worst: the personnel at the reception desk definitely need additional training, if not more. Their attitude toward guests was completely incomprehensible to me - I’ve never experienced anything like this. I booked a room at this hotel only because NH where I usually stay was overbooked due to a sports competition in Düsseldorf. I had a long and exhausting flight, then train, and upon arrival, I just said, “I have an apartment booked at the hotel,” but the receptionist, instead of checking my reservation, started insisting that there were no apartments available in this hotel. I truly didn’t understand what was happening and even feared that my booking had been canceled. I couldn’t imagine that your staff could be so difficult with foreigners, and demanding to the terminology they use - I can say “suite,” “apartment,” “room”...English is not my native language, and I might make mistakes, but that doesn’t mean I should have to stay in the hotel lobby and listen to this nonsense in front of other guests.
After check-in, I requested an iron and ironing board in my suite because I needed to prepare for a business meeting. Again, I faced problems with the same employee - he brought a dirty iron, covered with burnt residue and remnants of charred fabric hanging from it. The ironing board was dirty as well. When I asked for another iron, he seemed genuinely surprised. Do I really need to explain such a basic things to an adult who is supposed to perform their duties? Finally he brought another one.
But all these disputes and problems are not what a guest expects after a long trip.

The room was exquisitely furnished with a huge bed, clean bathroom with bathtub and tea/ coffee amenities. I loved the timeless brick red and white colour theme inside the hotel. Breakfast was also sumptuous.
The hotel is 10-15 min walk from Essen Hbf and in close vicinity to exotic food courts and shopping centres.

Room cleaner have used my perfume which they make it almost empty which was expensive , i didn't make complaint in reception so better advice for those who want to reserve this hotel . dont leave your personal things in room when you are going out for citywalk .
