I came to Essen for a board game convention held at Essen Messe. While my stay was very much enjoyable, and I have no complaints about the hotel and the staff, it is definitely too expensive for what it offers. I paid a lot more, just because I was there during the rush hour. My room rate was almost 200 a night, and not even breakfast was included (the price was 18 per person).

The location was good
I have never complained earlier but this really upset me. The air-conditioning didnt work throughout the three days of my stay. In spite of complaining on two occasions to the receptionist there was no response.
