Disappointing
Modern atmosphere and clean rooms. The staff was very nice and kind. Location is at a very busy corner of two main streets but the rooms are quiet.
The bed's mattress seem to be done already - I was sleeping in a V-shape albeit my weight is 82kilo for a 1,90m man (actually I was not really sleeping). Although the bed linen was comfy and clean, the impression of the mattress was that it hasn't been replaced in a while.

Up to date, with modern decor and furnishings, bed was super comfy and the bathroom was a bit wow - handy for centre of town.

Disappointing
We booked because walking to the trade center was doable distance wise. Breakfast was okay (continental) and the space seemed clean. They advertise free football streaming (but we didn’t manage to be back on time as we were still at the fare grounds)
That the additional bed tax was not communicated prior to arriving, that the staff at the counter was not able to calculate that properly (no awareness that there is a limit to the tax). parking capacities were very limited (which was also not communicated prior even though we specifically asked for it) and is given on a first come first serve basis. The bed was way too soft for our taste.

Excellent staff. English knowledge could be a little bit better with some of the staff, but all friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and nice, nice bed, great shower. Really fun and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was good.
A bit of a distance to the center. Easy to take a uber but a bit far to walk to many places when the weather wasnt cooperating. Ordered dinner one evening which was a bit dissapointing.

Cosy, modern and nicely designed room. Clean hotel, comfortable bed, quiet place and good night sleep. The price was OK.
If I have to be picky:
Breakfast was a bit scarce but we stayed during busy Essen Spiel days, so that’s reasonable…
Wardrobe is not illuminated, a mistake from an interior designer.

Pleasant
Location good, staff great, room looks nice.
No mini frigde, kettle (watercooker) or bottles of water.
Breakfast could be better,, especially the seating, it was very chaotic. Groups of 4 people sitting at tables for 8 people, even in the middle of the table..
One big matress would have been better, been sleeping in between them.
A spotlight above the closet area would be great too, used the phone flashlight in the evening. Windowlight during the day.
