Very Poor
The rooms are very small and smell bad. The property is located in a small town surrounded by homes and is far from the town center of Essen. The overall vibe of the hotel makes you uncomfortable and we left immediately after checking in for a new hotel even though we had paid for this hotel.

Wonderful silent and peaceful place.
You can reach the hotel in about 20 min walking distance from Sbahn or from Altstadt Ketwig. But you can also use a bus from stadt or station to reach the hotel. There is a parking platz for your car.
Comfortable room, kind staff. Nice small restorant, tasty food. Nice breakfast. Beautiful stay.

Rather large room, spacious bathroom, everything was nice and clean. There is free parking right at the entrance.
There could be more parking spaces in front of the hotel, but it's no big deal since you can park on the street for free.

Really good breakfast and a big room. Beautiful building in a quiet and nice looking village.
Radiators were turned off and the room was cold (in the middle of December?). Room didn't got warm enough before we went to bed and it was hard to sleep because of that. The next day when we left for a few hours and came back, room service had turned the radiators off again.
Room was also cleaned haphazardly; there were foot and shoe prints all over the floor and in the corner, at the plain sight there were a candy and some sugar spilling by previous customer.

Good stopping point for my business trip between Dusseldorf airport and my final destination. Modern bathroom but a little dated bedroom, but everything was clean and comfortable.
It was really cold in the bedroom during the night. I'm not sure if there was an issue with the heating system or not. I didn't complain as it's not in my nature.

The staff are very friendly and helpful lovely hotel. The meals in the restaurant are exceptional. The breakfast is also very good with lots of choice. I would highly recommend the hotel. This is the third time l have stayed here and look forward to my next visit.

The breakfast was quite good. Staff was helpful and attentive.
Room had old equipment. It was also full of bugs because there is no mosquito net on the windows and AC is not available. I think the room was quite expensive for what it had to offer.
