Great breakfast and extremely friendly staff. The stay was pleasant and enjoyable. Hotel Fabritz is very conveniently located close to the centre of the city.

Very nice staff! Very quiet place and neighbourhood. To get to the hotel needs only a few bus or tram stops from the main station. The room was very spacious, the same as bathroom. Cleaning service, refreshed room, clean bedsheets and towels noticed every day! :)
Grocery store and bakery next to hotel. They also have a restaurant, but we had no chance to try it.
Unfortunately no lift to higher levels. Electric sockets loose, could be fixed.

The location was beautiful and calm
There was no elevator and I had heavy luggage :/ And when I signed out there was no one there and I couldn’t reach the reception with my foreign phone number

Location is good. In front of the hotel, there is a tram stop goes to the central station. Stuff was nice, there is no check dest. The lady who serves breakfast, was so nice and friendly. Good for short time staying!

Clean, comfortable, good space for 1 person, would have been roomy with 2 people as well. Had a charming B&B vibe. Large bathroom, desk, good natural light. Relatively central, walkable to train station (15-20 mins), little grocery store at the end of the block, pub in bottom of hotel, there was transport to downtown Essen outside on the street as well. Nice park around 5 minute walk away. If you’re looking for Asian cuisine, go to
Due to the humid summer weather and there not being air conditioning, room was a bit warm (also being on the third floor). Air conditioning isn’t all that common in Europe compared to North America. There was a large window in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom.

I was allowed to leave my luggage and have the key even though it was long before check in time, breakfast in the morning was great and the room has everything you need. Staff were very friendly and welcoming too
I was woken once the tram service started but that isn’t really the hotels fault.
