Love the vibe of the hotel. Everything's well designed, kind staff, pool table in the lounge area.
The rooms are quite noisy and on top of that we had pretty loud neighbours. After complaining about it to the staff they were very friendly and offered us another room. If your neighbours aren't doing anything crazy you should be okay.

Clean and cosy
Its too noisy outside if you open the window. I was staying on 3rd floor and waken up twice by people talking loudly on the street/ car honking in the middle of the night. I had to get up to close the window.

Really like the location and the in room record player ended up being something I did use each morning while I got ready, so proved a lovely touch.
Room was quite small, which I was prepared for as I packed light, but could be an issue for others.

Location near the shopping district and within Little Tokyo
Maybe I didnt read much of the Information but there was no A/C in the room and not much space for your luggages. Otherwise, the place was enough for short stays for couples

I love the hotel itself, the foyer has great ambiance, a bar, a free pool table, comfy chairs to sit around, spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fresh and nice and the staff in the restaurant for breakfast were friendly and very quick to remove plates, wipe down tables and keep the area clean. The bed was comfy and the pillows nice.
Our room was very small, so small we could barely open our suitcases. In the shower the bottom floor of the shower was so low that you had to keep turning the water off to let it drain out or it would overflow onto the bathroom floor. It was cold so this was not ideal. No bar fridge, I'm not sure if this is an overseas thing but I like a bar fridge when staying a few nights as I hate long life milk and you can keep a drink, juice or such in your room for easy access when you want it. You literally couldn't swing a cat in that room.

Location, quirkiness, hotel reception open 24/7. Things you could buy at reception. Hotel decor. Room cute, but don't choose small size, go for minimum a medium. If you will spend little time in your room then this is perfect.
Where my toes reached down at the end of the bed the sheet felt suddenly plasticy - not sure what that was about.

The atmosphere at the hotel was great, retro/vintage furniture in the entile hotel looks great. Fun room with record player and basketball net. staff at reception/bar and breakfast area were more than friendly!
The room did not have airconditioning and when we stayed at Max Brown, luckily the weather was not too hot (20-25 degrees). The room was hot and opening a window did not really help due to the blinding roll curtain that blocked air flow. If temperatures reach 25-30 degrees, the room must be blazing hot. Beds were a little too soft and bumpy to our liking, but nothing we couldn't overcome.

Very good location, friendly staff
Room is too small, but more than that it is definitely not practical. I have seen equally small rooms which offered much more practicality and free space. The double bed sits against the wall without any space on the other side so it is impossible to go in and out from this side. In my opinion this room should not be sold as a double room.
During check in there was a small used toothpaste and remainings on the shelf of the bathroom, so obviously not very well cleaned.
