Beautiful historic building. Room was spacious and had its own small kitchen area. The breakfast was great. It was within easy walking distance of shopping areas.
There was no restaurant on sight that was open for dinner when we were there.

The location is absolutely amazing. Rooms are spacious well decorated. Bar is a must lovely cocktail ?. Whenever I am in dusseldorf I make sure to drop by for a drink.
My main concern is lack of honesty to cover up a very serious security and safety issue. I believe if this got out to authorities the hotel would have been in serious issues. We have booked 2 rooms 205 and 207 for 3 nights. On the 12th of December we were getting ready to head out for a walk and we started smelling smoke. I could tell it was something to do with electricity due to a specific smell taking into consideration I am in the construction business. Came out to the hallway to see smoke started to build up immediately told my kids to get out of the hotel then rushed to the elevator section overlooking the lobby and notified 2 employees at the front desk a lady and a young gentleman. They ran up we started walking around opening rooms and checking where the smoke was coming from but I could tell it's not from a room it's between the ceiling and gypsum board. The main concern is the fire ? alarm did not activate even though there was thick smoke. Secondly them stating afterwards that someone was burning plastic in the room to cover up the situation is absolutely non sense. We went opening rooms together it was not from a room. Fire systems should be checked ✔️

They need to clean up the rooms better - once I open up the telephone it was all dusty. Also there was a smell in the room.

Location, and room was good size
Staff uninterested and not helpful at all. No room service, no one talking about facilities, no one to take you to your room. Overall a terrible stay and will not return again

Everything about the building and location is great
The gym is quite small and equipped with only a few machines, which makes it difficult to use during busy hours. The breakfast, while decent, is significantly overpriced for what it offers. I believe management should reconsider both the gym facilities and the breakfast pricing to better meet guests’ expectations.

There’s too much to list as to how bad this hotel was. From rude staff, unclean rooms it was really bad. Also, don’t count on room service. That apparently doesn’t exist!
This really was a fawlty towers experience.
