This family-run hotel provides a touch of elegance in a tranquil and attractive suburb of Düsseldorf, within easy reach of the city center. The Hotel Windsor is a beautifully renovated building which dates back to the turn of the 20th century. It features a classy British ambiance and antique furniture. The hotel is ideally located to the city center and Grafenberg forest. My room in the top floor was too small for two of us. I booked quite a long time in advance, but apparently no larger double room was available.

The hotel in its antique style is wonderful and very unique. Great experience. Felt like staying in a museum. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The internet!!! There pretty much is none. It dropped every few seconds. Not usable at all. We ended up using mobile data all the time. The hotel should not advertise internet because there really is none. We could manage but if someone travels and depends on internet for meetings and work, they will have a big problem!

Breakfast was very nice with lots of freshly cooked buffet options & served in an attractively appointed breakfast room. Located close to Underground & S-bahn stations. Fresh towels provided each day, upon request.
No available room safe. No in-room mini-fridge & microwave, especially since there were no communal kitchen facilities available to warm up leftovers & no fridge to store medication requiring refrigeration. Upon first arriving at appointed time, there was no one to check us in & no instructions how to access property. We ended up doing it remotely by phone, which was unexpected. There was an open kitchen area that appeared to be available to guests but, when we entered to explore - as there was absolutely no indication it was off limits to guests, we were verbally attacked by a staff member, who not only yelled at us for being in there, but also insisted we had not actually checked in!!! In retrospect, it seems she was supposed to be staffing the front desk upon our designated arrival, but no one was present to formally check us in & provide a tour/introduction to the facilities, including the uncommunicated strict rules about staying out of the kitchen! Not a warm welcome at all, & jarring to say the least.

Walls are paper thin, it's like living in someone's house, it was super loud, the wood floor made loud noises; my hairdryer did not work, only for 30 seconds and then you had to cool it off (bad quality)

Lovely little hotel, of the kind that you can just love at first sight, not because they are luxurious and modern, but because you see that they care for the quality of your stay, the decorations, the paintings hanging at the walls, the tables, the chairs, ... Everything is done to fight the anonymity of the majority of the hotels out there: every room is different from the next, different volumes, different orientation, different level... Breakfast was a relaxing moment, with lovely little croissants and pains au chocolat, freshly scrambled eggs, and a very good selection on a buffet.
The carpet, although perfectly attuned to a British hotel style, should be renewed.

The authenticity of building. Beautiful round top doors with original hardware. High ceilings. Updated bathroom. Helpful staff.
The shower gel dispenser was empty but we improvised with the hand soap. Check in was a little tricky because there wasn’t staff on duty when we checked in but we managed.
